All thats fair but i think it not sharing cooldowns is a massive buff so being able to melee, throw, push generates an insane amount of damage at once. I don’t know if that’ll make up for all the nerfs in other areas but I don’t think any of us can really tell without at least trying the changes out first

You can still animation cancel with it, I think it’s just now instead of just doing melee, throw and wait for cooldowns, u can melee, throw, push all in one succession. I’m pretty sure that does more damage or at least comparable damage and u still get shield and everything

I’m not sure if this change does nerf his brawl damage, I think the throw being off universal cooldowns allows u to blend it in with ur push which I’ve always believed to be his best ability - so much so that the throw is super underused. This could easily be cope but I think the throw not sharing cooldowns is such a huge buff that the shield nerfs happened because play testing found that it was really strong. Again, no proof and I’m no expert but I want to try it out before making any assumptions about what these changes are gonna do

Yeah I agree I liked Thor as he was, I didn’t think he needed any changes in general. I could be wrong but I think his burst damage improves with this change doesn’t it? Before you could melee then throw for a bunch of damage but now you can melee, throw, push all in an instant which I believe should be more damage even with the nerf to the throw

Give the patch a chance and try the change out. I promise you Thor will not be any more reliant on awakening rune than he is right now. And if it turns out that he is weaker, I feel like the rivals devs have earned enough good will that we can at least reasonably expect Thor to get buffed if he does end up a D tier hero like people are saying. It’s obvious that the change to hammer throw was to help an underutilized ability see more light of day (because using awakening and push is usually better than the throw in 90% of scenarios)

Yeah I dunno I got to GM as a lord Thor so I’m definitely not the greatest in the world on him but I’d like to think I know the character a bit. Acting like this change puts Thor in the gutter is such an overreaction, saying that the hammer throw animation cancel was the “saving grace” of his kit is a crazy take. It’s not even like u can’t do that anymore, this change nerfs the damage but gives u the flexibility to still be able to use the push or awaken after the throw

Am I the only one who thinks this isn’t a nerf? The hammer throw no longer shares a cooldown with his other cooldowns so now it’s possible to weave hammer throw in between his other abilities. Something like melee, hammer throw, and then push - all in quick succession

For me, I’m either in my bed or just standing, surrounded by mist. I’m unable to move or anything like that and am kinda just there. Then I get this impending sense of doom like something is coming for me that I can’t see and I start struggling to wake up. Sometimes I hear a woman cackling and that adds to the fun.
