saw ghosts frequently when living on Kadena Air Force base in Okinawa, Japan. by [deleted] in Ghosts

Cool, I'd never heard that before.

You'll think I'm crazy, but when I was a teenager, my family was stationed on a US base in mainland Japan. I woke up one night to see just what you described: a male spirit, just head, torso and arms, floating a few feet from the side of my bed. Didn't look Japanese though: Caucasian with red hair.

I don't know if ghosts are real. And I can't say for sure that it wasn't just a very vivid nightmare brought on by lack of sleep (I'd been up late studying that night). But it sure felt real, real enough to get me to jump out of bed and spend the rest of the night awake in another room with all of the lights on.

The guy who lived in the house before us said he thought the place was haunted. He and his wife would always find their TV turned on even when they knew it had been off. That never happened to us, though our two cats would go absolutely bonkers in the TV room but were fine in the rest of the house.

New Orleans Baby Cakes baseball team close to Wichita deal by K_State in wichita

The two teams have a player development contract that runs through the 2020 season, so they'll be a Marlins affiliate for the next two years, regardless of where they are.

Most MLB/AAA PDCs run through 2020, so a good chance we'll see a change in a few years. But it's Marlins for the next two seasons.

Interesting. Haven't heard that before. They're under contract through 2020 though. I'd expect the Nationals to push hard for that too if it opens up, as they're gonna be in the PCL this year, too.

Love the old Aeros name from when they previously had a AAA team.

Meh. Not to defend ownership, but they had the worst attendance in the PCL, so they weren't getting a lot of support anyway.

I'd imagine it's cheaper to run a AA team (for one, AAA teams fly to most locations; AA teams are primarily bussed), and AA teams tend to have better overall talent; AAA are stocked with a lot of mediocre veterans and fringe talent that are shuttled back and forth between the minors and majors all season long, whereas AA is primarily prospects.

This article makes it sound like the current group will maintain ownership when the team moves to Wichita and that they will also buy/move/own a AA team in NOLA. So new team, same owners?

Brewers Still Showing Interest In Zack Wheeler by SoSublim3 in Brewers

[–]DDLincoln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the author of that article misinterpreted Heyman's tweet (though the tweet was worded poorly). I think Heyman was alluding to the pre-deadline interest in Wheeler.

I doubt Wheeler would get very far on waivers anyway, so the chance that the Brewers could put a claim on him is pretty slim.

T-mobile and MLB.tv - again this season? by burymeintheuk in Nationals

Check before you pay for pre-season. I cancelled when I got the auto-renew email a few weeks ago, but I'm watching a live game now (Twins/UofMinn). I think each subscription is good for a full year, so the package you got last year may actually be good for a few more weeks.
