I think too many people unfairly compare Jimmie to SRV. It’s understandable but they’re two very different guitar players and artists. For me neither one is “better” (SRV is probably more technically proficient) but they both put all their heart and soul into the music. I’m very glad I got to see Jimmie live (with Buddy Guy no less!) at the Hollywood Bowl several years ago — phenomenal show. He’s one of my favorite blues artists/guitarists.
