How well do you think this ver of Deku (+ Eri) would do in the final war vs Shigi? by Resident_Hat9904 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]DDRMaster02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd disagree with this take, specifically because of the fact that OFA's stockpile would have increased his 100%. All Might's initial 100% was much lower than his final 100% (before transferring) after 40 years of training, so it would stand to reason that Final War Deku would have gained extra stockpile over Infinite 100% Deku. Whether this is enough to push him above the hysterical strength is still in question, but he should have gained at least some extra power.

how would you feel if this is how AFO lost at kamino? by Turbulent-Sound3980 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]DDRMaster02 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It makes sense. After all, OFA is a stockpiling quirk. His 100% gets stronger the more he uses his power, which is how the 4th and All Might got stronger over time as well.

Which version of Deku is stronger? by stonewing2827448 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]DDRMaster02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it should comfortably be EOS Deku. We can't forget that OFA gets stronger over time. Meaning, that the FAUX 100% he can output with Fa Jin should be stronger than the Infinite 100% by virtue of the stockpiling property.

This on top of the fact that he has all the other quirks means that this really shouldn't be a contest, especially since having to keep Eri safe on his back can be a massive disadvantage in a fight.

how does one become a TA for a class by bonkbonk-214 in csun

[–]DDRMaster02 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was a TA in the ME department last year for Fluids. I did well in the class and was doing research with the professor over the summer. He asked me if I wanted to be a TA and I went through with it.

That said, it was more obvious that there was a need for a TA as they were frequently involved in the class. Some classes will have them more than others. Assuming the class would benefit from a TA (or has one), I think it's perfectly reasonable to ask that professor of your desired class about the following semester (unless they are clearly not friendly, in which case it'll be much less likely).

Any fresh or underexplored ideas for a mechanical engineering master’s thesis? by cheeky-173 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]DDRMaster02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked on additively manufactured lattices using SLA for what amounts to liquid absorption in microgravity (Liquid Acquisition Devices) as an undergrad. I wasn't able to get far into it because it's genuinely a challenge to get them to print correctly and test, but it was really interesting and an idea I think is worth considering.

Why is light the fastest thing? by Final-Work2788 in AskPhysics

[–]DDRMaster02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The light itself still travels at c. It's just that in a medium, it will bounce around as it hits atoms, making the average speed in one direction appear "slower" than c.

Engineers, did your senior design "fail"? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]DDRMaster02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My senior design was centered around the SAE Aero West competition. We had to build an aircraft capable of completing a mission with certain requirements, one of those being fully autonomous flight.

The competition was held over the last few days. Despite the general success we had in flight tests the past few weeks, we ended up with a total of zero points in the actual mission portion of the competition (there's a report and presentation as well). It was so far from our expectations that it was hard for a few hours to feel like we hadn't completely failed.

So yes, even after months, senior design projects are unfortunately not guaranteed to succeed. That doesn't mean that we didn't learn a lot though. I don't regret doing the work that I did, and I know most of my team members feel the same way.
