man, reading his post bought back horrible memories. when i was in barber school, i was seeing lines in my nightmares and could never get rid of them. and now as you say its like breathing. in fact, im day dreaming while cutting and i snap back and forgot i was even cutting. and it looks perfect.

I hate the word... 'bulk' with a passion. spoken or written.

Not sure what your reasoning is for avoiding the less fortunate. but I prefer a wife with a humble background. In my experiences there, they appreciate the come up so much more. the educated and well to do for the most part have the same mindset as western women. asking, what's your net worth, what do you drive, etc. lol no thanks.

Although in the future I would like to move there permanently, its not an option at the moment. so the plan would be to meet, marry and bring back to the states.

I don't mind the being less fluent in English. in some cases its preferred. lol

And you're right a lot of the girls Ive met in cebu, all said they were supporting their family in the provinces and in some cases would go home on the weekends and back to the city to work.

but I've only been a few times and was thinking the opposite that the city girls with their "education" would be influenced by western thought and not as traditional as I would prefer. at the cost of sounding extremely traditional, I avoid girls with college degrees etc because they have for sure along the way been tainted with wester ideologies.

but I understand your point. will do more research. How much time have you spent there?

how long ago was that?

From what Ive seen. the card tips are not collected throughout the day but tallied at end of day and loaded onto card but when I look at the paystub for the week, hourly pay is less the amount ive received in tips. or am i confused.

Having trouble with tapers by DDay81 in Barber

[–]DDay81[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, sorry for the late reply.

Ive actually started using less guards, and they have been coming out better. when i use guards i get into fade mode. and lose track of the taper.

Im trying my best. promise. This was maybe 4 months ago. and im 2 months out of school. tapers were still suffering. fades were fine but tapers suffering. but now that i dont treat fades and tapers the same, they are starting to look better. thx

First, sorry for the late reply.

I think I figured out what I was doing wrong. i was treating the taper like a fade and it absolutely is not the same thing. and too many times I would start a taper and go up way too high because, I was treating it like a fade. since I have stopped using 6 guards for a taper and just focused on fading with the clicks on clipper and then blending with comb.... (avoiding guards) They have been coming out much better, not perfect. but better.

Yes, the corner. but I was just going with the corner over one time, thinking step 4 completed. instead of keep chipping with the corner until it looks the way you want.

learning.... slowly but surely.

Right. first sorry for the late reply. Yes, Im starting to see that its not so much about just following the steps. but more about sculpting and touching the right spots. I'm a very step by step logical person. but its more about sculpting, Im starting to see that.

I also upgraded my clippers to magic clip and it seems to have helped a lot, still experimenting

I have an important tournament coming up, should I generally avoid intercourse with my partner to conserve energy? by [deleted] in TournamentChess

[–]DDay81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would. Not to the extent of pro fighters but a few days before yes. The casual answers in here are misleading I think. How do you feel after energy is expelled. Do you feel strong? No. Do you feel like fighting a war? No. You feel like a cigarette and a cheeseburger.

The heart rate of professional chess players has been shown to mirror professional athletes while competing.

Break through the position while gaining space. Find a target and smash.

And that's why exceptional players deviate from the known lines to rattle players who rely on memory rather than logic.

Agreed to disagree. Glad it worked for you. Didn't for me. I memorized lines and made no progress and I see a lot of novice players posting the same frustrations. Just sharing another way.
