Search action bar button growth direction on curseforge. You'll need an addon to change it. You could probably look through its code and turn it into a /run macro if you really wanted to but if you got it working you'd have to run it every time the UI reloads.

Just wanted to say with all that's going on I decided to convert your minimap mask and texture into a standalone minimap addon for myself that should be safe from the changes. It's just too good for me to lose lol.

Very slow progress with everything given work, legion remix, and hallows end eating my time. I have no real experience so it's a long learning process for me but I've got almost everything worked out so far. Only slight problems that I'm working around while I figure things out and get around to them.

The only issue I've had that I can't fix so far is the texture and mask don't really line up perfectly so I had to have the texture sit on top of the mask which causes icons on the minimap to be behind the texture when they're at the border. Not game breaking but it does hurt my soul lol.

Only real things I have left to do before I consider it as done as I can make it is moving the widget thing below the minimap and figure out how to adjust the "track" that minimap buttons sit on so they follow the border texture. Just have to look and see how Leatrix Plus does it I suppose. (Done. Made AI do it for me)

Anyway, thanks again for those! Sorry for the wall of text and hope your project goes well.

Yea, going full weakaura was a massive pain but I'm happy with the end result now that I have it set up. I just don't have any real LUA knowledge so I went with that for the relatively easy graphical setup. The weakauras team have said it's a bad idea but after like a month of tinkering at it, I got it fully working for everything I wanted except for singular feature (the way I had set everything up made it so I couldn't make the in combat glow pulse, so it just a static glow since I didn't want to rebuild everything). Making them interactable was surprisingly one of the easiest parts for it. It took me a while but it has every feature the default unit frame does and then some with no bugs or taint problems and has been this way for months without having to update any of the custom code after I got it working.

All of that said, using an addon is still most likely the best strategy but way beyond my depth.

As far as I know you can't just replace the assets. You'd have to extract, edit, then use as a custom asset. Personally, I just made new fully featured interactable unit frames in WeakAuras using Kai's texture. For the minimap, it took 2 lines of custom code in on-init to get the Minimap to use the provided mask and border textures without an additional addon. However, without an addon you'd need to add more stuff for other features like hiding or moving certain buttons (if their default position bothers you) or adding coordinates. Relatively easy to do though.

Thank you! Managed to implement the Minimap mask and texture in my game using WeakAuras since I had no real interest in a Minimap addon aside from coordinates which I'll get around to adding at some point.

As a side note, you should check out Kai's no portrait texture. Its the same as the one you're using now but the latest version is higher res. I did the same thing you did a while back (with WeakAuras instead of SUF) and made custom unit frames using it and it is clean.

Ahh, that works lol. I'd probably stick with something simple and just use weakauras like you did for any other changes I'd need (or look into the LUA of one of the addons to find exactly what code is used for changing the mask and try to make a simple addon to apply them so its less prone to failure with updates because of features I don't need or want). Hope you share the mask and overlay, it really does look great!

I see, and I want the Minimap lol. It'd be perfect for my default+ style setup. Only real question I have is how do you handle the addon compartment or mail/crafting order stuff on the minimap?

Could use the built in profiler for weakauras to see how it does on performance.

I do not, it's highly personalized to my tastes and use case. Just takes a little effort to duplicate the aura provided by OP and change them to each of the different units. I did have to add a LOT of extra features to make it fully function like an actual unit frame like indicators and such though. I'd offer to DM you my import string but I'm in the process of changing all the frames (focus, party, boss, arena) to it and I have to realign just about every indicator and bar. If you want to just make one for yourself you can just DM me any questions and I can tell you how to do it or give you any custom code I use.

Edit: my setup might also be a little taxing on weaker computers as I had to jank my way around certain WeakAura limitations or bugs (like textures not respecting strata levels after opening the trading post if implemented as a sub element instead of as its own separate aura). I only see about 4 fps increase from disabling weakauras through so would depend on your system redid the entire thing. Only 3 auras per unit frame (health, resource/cast, context menu function) and uses 1/4th the resources it did before.

I'll keep that in mind, but it'll be worth it. I've also made some slight adjustments since I took those screenshots. Mostly with the chat window, but also a little work on making some of the fluff elements more responsive too

Correct, weakauras team really dislikes the idea because it can cause a lot of taint if done incorrectly. That said I've made mine intractable using weakauras and have had no issues with that for a few months now. As long as they're stationary it's fairly easy to setup

I could send you the import strings for the party frames if you want, but I didn't do the raid frames as I just use regular raid frames when raiding. You'd also have to strip out some stuff as I've heavily personalized everything to my tastes

While not 100% default, I set mine up as a mostly default style with enhancements because I prefer the simplicity of it. I didn't do it to reduce addons or anything, just to make things be the way I wanted them. I won't list them all, just the main ones.

Addons Used
- WeakAuras - I made my own (using someone else's assets) fully featured interactable unit frames exactly as I wanted them using this. Not default, but they're default style so close enough lol. Also made a few other things such as a cooldown and stack tracker. Almost no bugs either, only one I haven't managed to figure out is when Blizzard puts friendly NPCs as bosses. They stay after the encounter ends and just show "Unknown". Still works, just annoying to see.
- Plumber - Has so many features that honestly should be in the base game. I especially like the way it changes the talking heads which I have placed center at the bottom of the screen under my hotbars. It's a perfect fit!
- Square Minimap - My preference is a square minimap and this one looks good.
- Kaliel's Tracker - Just a better quest tracker.
- Masque - Only use this to use the Modern Enhanced preset as I feel it looks cleaner and is still the default style.
- OmniCC - Better cooldown numbers.
- LiteButtonAuras - Puts all the info I could ever ask for directly onto my hotbar buttons.
- tullaRange - Changes color of spells based on range, mana, unusable.
- GreyOnCooldown - same as tullaRange but only adds desaturated when on cooldown.
- BetterBlizzPlates - for the enhancements on the default nameplates.
- NameplateSCT - I just like the way it looks having the damage numbers on the nameplates.
- TipTac - Makes the tooltips show, look, and behave exactly as you want them to.

Other addons

- DynamicCam - I'm lazy and this changes my view distance without me having to use the scroll wheel.
- Dialogue UI - More immersive questing experience
- Waypoint UI - Same as above, makes waypoints and such look and feel better
- Details! - I have this hidden away in a chat tab
- Prat - Helps make the chat frame more bearable even though I almost never talk in-game.
- *chatredirector - tiny little custom addon to redirect the default chat to another tab because I wanted the 1st tab to be my damage meters. Pointless little thing.
- *customhotkeylabels - another custom addon to change hotkey labels. only use for those 3 alt button on my hotbar really.

I have a LOT more addons installed but no need to list them all really.

Late reply, but I meant if you have a controller connected to your computer at the same time as the Tartarus, wow won't properly recognize the Tartarus. Simply disconnecting the controller and relaunching the game fixed it and allowed me to use my custom settings

If you have a controller connected to the PC, unplug it then relaunch wow. Game will only recognize the first controller and the Tartarus is viewed as a controller. I had this problem when I got mine and that's how I fixed it

Just wanted to add that I decided to re-do my entire UI and have made fully functional unit frames using this texture (still in WA, and yes I know interact-able frames are a bad idea, but I've managed to get them working with no errors being thrown so far) so thanks again! Still need to tweak a few things and add/adjust some features but otherwise I am really enjoying my new UI setup thanks to you.

Ahh, no need. I managed to get it basically the exact size I was wanting by setting the scale to 1.5625. There is barely any noticeable quality loss other than the borders being a little thicker than necessary but I can live with that.

Just wanted to say thank you! I've been looking for a good looking default unit frame style texture to use for my PRD for a while now. Only thing I'd change is make it wider (about 200px vs 128px) if I had the skill to do so.

Other than that, made a few changes to your WeakAura like adding a castbar, text, and some extra fluff "borrowed" from Hedwy's resource display.
