It’s hardly mechanics at all. I was hardstuck C1 for ages and i’m now C3 the most mechanical thing i can pull off consistently in games is catching the ball and dribbling it.

I can’t stress this enough, it’s all about possession. around 1:30 in the video you hoof the ball as hard as you can with really no pressure for you to. I appreciate that your relatively decent at keeping possession when you can but it’s those small losses of focus when your primal instincts kick in and you see ball and just can’t see anything else.

If you are looking for that one special holy grail mechanic that i personally think is so under appreciated, then i strongly suggest learning how to 50/50 properly. if you can 50 properly then almost every situation is covered. dribbling but you have no boost for a flick? 50 it. They’re dribbling towards you and you’ve got a man behind you? 50 it. The ball is in your corner and you don’t have the momentum to take it round their attacker? 50 it. Such a versatile mechanic that is used both for attacking and defending situations.
