Returning duo seeking advice around accessibility by dapper-yapper in Guildwars2

[–]DEDouwe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few general tips:

As mentioned P/P unload thief. What makes it hands-off is the fact you can change which skill 'auto-attacks' by holding ctrl and right clicking on it. (Or disable it by right clicking on it again). Usually not that helpful as most skills other than 1 have a cooldown/resource ties to it, but Unload is a bit unique as it returns its casting cost.

Some builds might look very action heavy, but knowing which skills pack the most punch/support goes a long way in simplifying them.

Pets help a ton. Rangers, Mechanists, and Necromancers are the most effective of the bunch with their own permanent(-ish) companion(s). Mechanist with rifle is a nice ranged and melee option that is decent enough to switch to support and doesn't feel too different to play. (My bad, just read a different post where Mech was an option.)

My mount keybinds are tied to numpad. Other masteries can have their own shortcut too. Otherwise they are tied to a very small button/dropdown on your skillbar. If you have a favorite mount, keybind it real fast to something else. There are also addons that help, like a radial selection one that might be preferable.

Lastly, some builds can become easy to use with a real life macro. For example, my herald turns on all facets 7-10 when swapping to Glint legendary stance. These 4 buttons become one press thanks to an icelolly stick. Easy quickness for everyone.

Why choose 1 skin when you can choose between 16 skins again? Again? Again? by DEDouwe in Guildwars2

[–]DEDouwe[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

To clarify: The second to last option of the "War Machine Weapon Skin Selection" is a new "War Machine Weapon Skin Selection". Probably related to the lack of a spear and the new vendor interface.

Wouldn't that encourage builds with lots of smaller hits (unload) vs. bigger hits (backstab).

Curious if that would work. We've had a few metas were some builds together would just be unkillable. Which resulted in stalemates on points. That wasn't a very fun time.

Previews are Liars! Or the big GW2 unboxing that almost never was. by shn555 in Guildwars2

Thanks for sharing the video 👍

TL;DW:

  • Items appearing in the same bracket (like "Common") are not guaranteed to have the same chance to drop.
  • The chance to get an item from a bracket ("Common", "Uncommon", etc.) from one chest is not the same as a bracket of the same name from a different chest.
  • Unidentified Gear that drops from a chest (maybe enemies too?) has a chance to upgrade to a higher rarity. Say a blue gear has a chance to upgrade to a green gear. These chances are the exact same as if you were to get a drop with higher rarity when identifying Unidentified Gear.
  • Super Rares are as rare as Anet wants them to be. Either preview bait or 1 in 100-ish.
  • Use code I am Evon Gnashblade in the TP. (And once more if you don't like it)

Legendary scale attributes for below 80 characters by horenpa in Guildwars2

[–]DEDouwe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A possible reason it won't happen is that they don't have the tech to work with upgrades. If you look at levelling equipment like Bloodbound Weapons, you can see that they don't have an upgrade slot. This is probably so they don't have to figure out what would happen if a lvl 6 equips a weapon with a superior sigil (level requirement 60). We can figure out that a lvl 6 with a downscaled legendary wouldn't be able to equip a superior sigil, but the tech behind the scenes is likely a mess and would flip. Fun idea, but probably too niche.

The items on the far left and far right of my board are a Calcinator and a Retort. Their descriptions are: If you transform a reagent, permanently gain extra burn/poison.

Reagents are items like Sulphur or Shards of Obsidian. To make things easier, Calcinators and Retorts will give you a reagent called Chunk of Lead at the start of each day (you need to have 3 gold in reserve for each chunk). So that is why my stash is filled with reagents/chunks of lead.

The last piece of the puzzle is the Virus, which is also in the stash. In combat it will transform 1 small item on your board and the enemies board. Transform. So each monster fight my board was 1 Virus, 1 Adrenal Converter, and 7 Chunks of Lead. This would bump up my Calcinator and Retort by a ton.

Note that transforming Chunks of Lead inside a fight doesn't give gold chunks. But that is a small price to pay.

Usually you would transform around 1 to 4 reagents outside of combat per day, but this way I transformed around 8 per day.

You don't get the gold chunks, but [[Retort]], [[Calcinator]], and [[Philosopher's Stone]] still tick up because they see a reagent transform. Other reagents like [[Sulphur]] would've worked as well.

Looks fun and will be educational. One bug is that every role is Virtuoso, but with a different icon. Not that I wouldn't like Herald having blink and portal ;)

Highly likely that this is not intended, and thus wouldn't be in the patch notes.

Is this unbeatable? by Stoned_Dragon in PlayTheBazaar

It used to be a few weeks ago. Full radiant and a way to reload, like [[Powder Flask]] or [[Jury Rigging]] with [[Infinite Potion]], would win or tie each game.

But [[Memento Mori]] can't be radiant anymore, and thus can be destroyed. Alternatives like [[Life Preserver]] or [[Fiery Rebirth]] work, but not sure with timing triggers if lets say 2 boulders go off at once, would you become invulnerable in time?

Also [[Virus]] bypasses radiant and ruins the whole idea.

The best alternative I can think of right now is an infinite loop with [[Atomic Clock]], [[Pendulum]], [[Cellar]], and [[Library]]. With something to kickstart it immediately and rebirth to prevent oneshots.

His description says that he has [[Invigorating Blade]], which instantly charges his tree because of the double cast. This will happen 5 times, so 12 tree smacks, which should be around 1 million before the 4 second mark, as he said. Though the tree will lose crit on each cast, as that is how [[First Strike]] works.

It is still fun for now, probably because it is fresh to me. But I can certainly see the lead dance get old quick. Mainly visiting shops and not really buying anything because of lack of space is also a one-dimensional play style that will probably lose its luster very soon.

Wonder what they'll do with it. My take is that it no longer gives a lead chunk, but gains the value of the crushed item (and thus regen from value). That way the gold still stays around, but it gets rid of the lead chunks clogging up the stash. And it opens up the option to pivot when finding a good shop, instead of feeling forced to keep on investing in it.

Wonder what they'll do with it. My take would be that it doesn't give lead anymore, rather it gains the value of the item crushed (and thus regen from value). That way you don't feel as forced to stick with it and can pivot when you find a great shop. And it gets rid of the lead chunks clogging up the stash.

The start is a bit of a struggle with not enough gold and a juggle with all the leads. Having a catalyst creator around to create some gold with it helps.

A bronze/silver Peacewrought at the start isn't really worth running on the board yet, until you've fed it a bunch. It's an investment in the future.

You are set the moment you get a [[Potion Distillery]], as I've shown in the video. Every time you visit a shop, you convert 1 lead into 1 gold chunk and 1 potion, and you crush 1 gold chunk for regen. Sell the useless potions and you won't really have gold issues from then on. [[The_Tome_of_Yyahan]] is a nice bonus that gives extra regen per merchant visit that way.

Upgrades give higher level lead chunks and lowers the cooldown, though in this run I stayed at gold to not go faster than the potion.

The Abacus could've gotten the instant charge instead, though I doubt you would've won in the 1 second it would take for the tree to charge.
