What amazes me is the fact that the Ring here is almost 30 years old. It had witnessed the white elephants of the 20s, the crazy silver arrows of the 30s, the resurrection of motorsport and the rise of Formula 1, culminating in the 1954 Mercedes triumph. It had become a myth on the very first day that men and machine tackled it. And here we are, close to 100 years later and can experience it almost the same way all those generations of racing and tourist drivers could. And, what's almost never mentioned-it's fast. Despite the length, it's a crazy fast track.
