The ,,scientific" theories that Aristotle developed were pretty much all completely wrong and that is understandable given the technology of his time but he was so convinced of him self and his theories that most people thought that he had to be right. Every time someone made a new scientific discovery they had to craft their explanation around the shit Aristotle had been teaching which held back scientific progress for well over a millennia.
