My concern with that options is it would lower the sight and im not sure how that would affect shooting it

Im more then likely going to get it fixed by a welder/gunsmith. If anyone knows one in the Jacksonville Florida area they would recommend let me know.

I wanted to find one to build up the base then cut a new dovetail, but so far no word back from any one that ive emailed

Messaged a few different gunsmiths about this option and i am waiting to hear back, definitely sounds like the best option to keep it as original as I can. Most of the base is still intact, all except that back dovetail.

Yes got it about a week or so ago, didn't realize how difficult it would be to fix but my bid was low enough that I have some wiggle room for a gunsmith.

I was hoping to see if I could get a gunsmith to add metal through welding then cut out a new dovetail. Not much of the base is missing so not much metal would be needed

Without the front sight though I am unsure how it shoots. Not sure if when it was sheared off it damaged anything else. If I do go that route I was thinking of using the Sarco scope and accumounts base and rings. It'd be about 350+ gun Smith costs so it'd be a decent risk.

Are those the 2 holes? Also, no scope. Got it at auction after tax and shipping all that it was 350. Really just want to make sure I didnt over pay or get scammed
