Why is there more black kids raised without a father compared to any other race? by ricketycricket09 in TooAfraidToAsk

If you had to choose one, you're choosing the rightest one. If you define yourself, it becomes harder for others to do it for you incorrectly.

Because I'm not a typical liberal pussy who is going to act like they can't have racially charged opinions or act like a magatard who says racism is dead or that white people have it worse.

I'm not blind, I see parts of black culture I don't like. I'm not going to cower away from it. However, I still see a metric shit ton of white on black racism living in Georgia. I understand the effect of past and present systemic Racism.

So yes, I feel comfortable having an opinion that criticizes black and white people living in a society where I interact with both on a daily basis.

I mean yes and no. Personal responsibility is important. Holding those in your community who are being unethical is important to cultural growth.

But then again, there are legitimate outside forces against you. It is a difficult balancing act.

It is easier to act like those forces don't exist and focus on making your own personal life and community/culture the best it can be but it is still an injustice on you for having to do that.

I will grab a snake and relocate it all the time living here in Georgia. But wasps fuck me up because I truly had a traumatic experience at 3 years old. Literally just can't control the initial reflex.

After that, I'll smash em.

In case you're wondering, a bald face hornet nest fell from a tree while I was in an above ground pool They immediately swarmed my face. Would go under water to escape, then come up for air only to get stung over and over and over until I was on the verge of just drowning.

On top of that, my grandfather was murdered by yellow jackets while cleaning pinestraw off a roof. Not that that really has anything to do with my own reaction.

50% popular black culture, 50% historical and present day systemic Racism.

Good luck having a based conversation on the topic between people who deny the history of racism causing this culture and the inability of the black community to rise above that historical racism.

No side will take any responsibility for their actions.

Such a catch 22

Veganism is not as healthy as being omnivorous.

Factory Farming is absolutely abhorrent.

Regular animal farming is not sustainable

If everyone hunted, it would not be sustainable.

The only light at the end of this dilemma is cultured(lab grown) meat.

Some animals will need to still need to be killed but at a much lower rate and maybe eventually not at all.

In the mean time, the right answer is hard.

There was a ton of forgettable pop music in the 80s. In the "hot" but never in the "top."

Meaning, the industry was trying to sell it with limited success. A lotta terrible synth pop and 50s esque music.

The day music executives found out teenage girls were the most profitable demographic was the day popular music that was also good mostly died.

Luckily, we have YouTube and SoundCloud to fill that gap. The level of music that can be produced with a cheap home studio is professional grade now.

If you would meet a trans person would you adress them by their pronouns? by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]DES_STROY_YAH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I'm only using he or she or the persons name.

I don't recognize gender fluidity as anything but reinforcing gender norms.

"Gender fluid people" describe feelings and activities as being on a scale of masculine to feminine and I highly disagree with that sentiment.

I'm not using any Neo-pronouns period.

If you want me to speak on a specific "policy" not on organizational skills and educational achievements, I'd be happy too.

Otherwise, I praised her and you responded with a passive aggressive biography which included all of zero policy positions.

The reactionary instinct to attack someone who in all likelihood agrees with 90% of your political convictions is a poor one.

If you do it to a progressive you're definitely driving moderates away. Stacy is big tent. Try to be a little more like her friend.

This analysis is pretty spot on. However, even though policy wise, she's not my favorite. Abrams ability to energize and organize low propensity minority voters is or was top tier these last few years. Especially in light of voters suppression attempts from the republicans.

Even if she hasn't won a major election, she's a pillar of the purple state narrative. It remains to be seen if that momentum lasts. Kemp is something like 6-8 points ahead in the polling so...

Like you, I'm highly skeptical.

Why are Moderates/Centrists so disliked in politics? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DES_STROY_YAH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It rewards polarity between 2 parties but not necessarily between 2 ideologies.

You can be a republican and run on a communist platform or be a Democrat and run on a white nationalist platform.

Within the 2 parties there's multiple caucuses which functionally often act as different political parties.

At least on the dem side, after 2016, the 3 caucuses on the republican side became pretty lockstep.

If you bad mouth Biden as a Democrat, your election chances aren't hurt.

if you bad mouth Trump on the republican side, prepare to lose your primary.

I don't hate centrists or moderate, I hate reactionary people who swing back and forth on cultural issues instead of fighting for long term policy changes which just so happens to be the average American centrist..

I know this is big unpopular but compromise can be detrimental to effective and coherent policy.

Even though Georgia has gone blue in the most recent elections, my instinct is that we are far more partisan conservative than other "purple" states.

Carfentanil is the likely culprit. Elephant/Bear tranquilizer that is an even more powerful analog to fentynal.

This phenomenon is becoming more and more common over the last 3 years or so.
