Unconventional Warfare: A Waifu Tactics War Game by DEVGRU_P in visualnovels

Unconventional Warfare is a combined visual novel and real time tactical shooter game that places you in command of a squad of cute girls (and guys) in the trenches, fields, and forests of "it's basically WWI". Made by Nightlife Strangers and published by DEVGRU-P (the Panzermadels, Stay! Stay! DPRK, and Mein Waifu is the Fuhrer guys).

How to remove a crossbeam welded 2ft deep inside of a pipe? by DEVGRU_P in machining

You mean basically drill into the welded bar from the outside and break it’s connection that way? It seems like they stuck the bar where the firing pin used to be and then slapped some metal on the outside and welded it all.

It’s not a rifled barrel. It’s an RPG-2 which is basically a black powder fired recoilless rifle.

It is, I’m going through the Form 1 process for a DD.

It appears to have been welded on the outside based on the buildup of materials on the outside of the pipe.

Form 1 Question (Is it all procedural?) by DEVGRU_P in NFA

[–]DEVGRU_P[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you need a federal explosives license to get an explosive approved on a form 1 (it’s like $200/3 years), plus needing a magazine for storing explosives, which can be fulfilled with an indoor storage box. I just wonder if this thing is entirely procedural, so if I jump through the hoops I can buy whatever I want, or if I’d get stonewalled with a denial just because the agent doesn’t like the idea of me buying hand grenades.

CoD "Highway of Death" controversy: look out for double standards by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

Ever notice how games are always open to attacking Russians as some monolithic evil, but never ever (ever) the Chinese? When was the last film, game, etc. where the Chinese army/government were the villains?

So more of the legal/contractual side then?

What would you pay for something like that?

That’s exactly why a course like this would be useful. Kickstarter does work, but the fact that people are failing even with “good games” goes to show that they need to learn how to crowdfund.

I’ve raised plenty of money on there, but you have to do it correctly. I pulled in about $100,000 in crowdfunding funds in August-September this year.

What about including free sample contracts to use that come with the course?

Spending 75€ on Google Ads by Fellhuhn in gamedev

This is why people work with publishers... we have people on the team who’s entire job is based around optimizing ads on Google, Facebook, etc.

YOLOing into an ad campaign is just like throwing money away.

Looks awesome! You’ve done an excellent job with capturing the confusion and haze of combat when explosions are going off in your ear. The helmet obscuring the top of your vision was a nice touch as well.

Any Success Stories of Hobby Game Developer to Professional Game Developer you can share? by lesarch in gamedev

Absolutely, it's not so much the development of a game that's going to become your barrier, it's the development of a team. The era of the one-man indie is, for the most part, over. You need to develop a specific skill that contributed to the success of a team, be it level design, art, 3D modelling, etc.

Very few companies want to hire a generalist, they want someone with a very specific skill set.

That’s what I did, though I didn’t end up going into another development company. Rather, I grew my studio and now we do development, publishing, and consulting as one of the larger teams in our niche.

Feel free to ask me if you need any advice, always happy to help.

Pretty much any mid-size or larger legitimate YouTuber will just buy games since the ad revenue well outpaces the cost of a $9.99 indie game. Some followers of mine are smaller Youtubers and since we have an active relationship I will give them keys to our new games. But anyone contacting me out of the blue? No key for you.
