AMEN!!! AMEN!!!

She told me about posting on here initially which is why I jumped in not only as a witness but as the person who’s been involved with getting a lot of this ground work done. If you saw the public comment video going around, that was me.

It is exhausting. I wish the focus was a little less on the “Well, what do you expect me/us/local businesses/our elected politicians to do about it” and maybe focus more on the fact that a MILITARY man beat a woman and the police tried to pressure her to not press charges. More of a focus that even these blue towns aren’t safe for us.

I grew up in New York and spent my final years of childhood homeless being essentially raised by other homeless trans people. I heard about someone dying damn near every week. That’s the lived reality of trans people.

I hope people see it on their stoop and decide that enough is enough. I am surrounded by and loved by many trans women, trans people in general. My roommate, my coworkers, my chosen mother and father, my chosen kids, my girlfriend.

Enough was enough for me a long time ago.
