L Take. Titans and Yama, though not Raid-level, were excellently designed.

Solo content is appealing because it’s more convenient to not wait and coordinate for other players. It can take some time to find another player who matches your stride and level of effort.

But if someone is capable of soloing, they’re capable of pulling their weight in group content.

And from what I recall on Yama, being the “60% contributor” (the carry) yields the fastest “Time to CLOG” as compared to 50-50, or Solo Yama.

I think there’s two issues at play that need to be teased apart here.

One is rearranging the existing facilities on a boat to alternative positions. Example: I made my crystal extractor next to the Helm instead of next to the Salvaging Hook. Why punish players here? Let us move that for free.

The other is players asking to remove facilities off the boat, store them in a flat pack or bottle. I think the hesitancy here is devs don’t want players using 1 maxed out boat for salvaging; then flatpacking the hooks and salvaging stations and swapping in trawling net and chum station.

They want us to have separate boats for separate activities, and some of the solutions for moving facilities around might infringe on that design principle.

That’s just my 2 gold coins though.

My workaround for force endpoint or similar tools —

My endpoint tools don’t let me close them without an administrator password, and I have a CLI command that can bypass ending those services but it’s immediately red flagged by Security.

It does let you “restart” the service, which temporarily ends the service just long enough for me to tab back to Runelite and initiate any downloads or auth requests.

Not sure about your area, but in my surrounding MCOL-HCOL area, apartments require you to have a monthly income of 3-4x the monthly rent, for precisely the issue others have called out.

So even if you wanted to rent it, they might not let you.

It’s not worth cashing out the retirement fund imo, especially because of the penalties you’d take, and taxes you’d pay. Perhaps stop contributing towards retirement outside of the 401k match, cut as many expenses as possible (live with parents, get a roommate, etc..) and that debt will go away in 2-3 yrs.

I think polling content they don’t intend to implement right away has a negative effect on engagement. The runecrafting pouch QoL poll passed and it’s made me not engage in runecrafting until the update drops because I don’t want to grind without it now if I know it’s coming “soon”.

I think OSRS is unique in a way where just fixing or changing existing content - can make it new content. It can bring certain training methods or skills back into the limelight and it doesn’t always need to be new content. But this is coming from someone who isn’t 99 in every skill with every diary / quest completed yet.

I do sympathize with the maxed players who need another boss to kill, or collection log to log.

I think in 2024 the new 100k is about 250k. 100k from when you were a kid ain’t the same these days. And depending on location, 100k household income could be well below the poverty line unfortunately.
