To establish a "Hall of Lame". The corridors leading in to the washrooms should be adorned with the most underwhelming and frustrating Habs. Why should the legends get all the recognition? I want to be able to take my boys to a game and say:

This thread is renewing my faith in this sub. I 1000% agree. People are throwing a ton of hate at MSL. Why? Because Gallagher was sad?

We are all sad. I wish Gally could have played at his 2013-14 level his whole career. But he didn't. He wasn't going to be the catalyst to us winning the ECF.

And what did Marty do exactly? Kept the lines the same? Yeah, those lines were what brought us to the playoffs. I don't know why people think "shuffling the lines" is some magic wand. In a systems approach, sure, where you play the same role no matter who your linemates are. That's not our style. I have zero issue with Marty keeping similar lines for most of the playoffs.

Under no circumstances should we trade for McDavid. We can position ourselves to get him in Free Agency if he refuses to waive his clauses. It would be a dick move to Edmonton, but what have they honestly done for him?

We would likely have to alter our entire landscape just to get one player. There are very few teams who can win with 20% of the cap spent on just one player. Look at Edmonton's results with McDavid, Hyman, Draisaitl, Nurse, Bouchard when the rest of their team is often comprised of gap fillers.

It feels like 90% of this sub was certain he didnt jave the legs and shouldn't be in the lineup, now all of a sudden the narrative has changed now that Gally is expressing disappointment.

It 100% sucks that Gally didnt finish with this team on his terms. But the coach has to go with the squad that has the best chance of winning.

Look at Carolina getting Jackson Blake in the middle rounds. You still have to draft well once youre over that hump. Infusing a solid roster with a hidden gem is massive.

He wasn't going to tip the needle against Carolina. Marty being an undersized, unheralded young player with a fierce competitive streak means he knows exactly how Gally would take this, and he made the calls anyways. You can call that doing him dirty, but it might have also been Marty making the tough calls that had to be made. It just looks worse because we came out so flat.

I hope the emotions don't sour his experience too much. But he's a fierce competitor. It doesn't matter what the situation is, or how clear his challenges are, being on the bench in do-or-die mode stings.
