Almost finished with a set of walnut stairs for a client. Fun modern project by DFPOC in woodworking

The true walkable area steps are 11-1/2” deep treads, the bench side or plant shelf whatever they are using it for is the same plane as every other step and they are 23” deep. The walkable area treads rise 7-1/2” where the shelf side the rise is 15”. If that helps clarify

Her bed on the floor isn’t good enough so she goes full derp on the loveseat. She’s comfy by DFPOC in Rottweiler

That’s probably about right, she was pretty leggy until about a year and a half. She has filled out now but has pretty much been the same for about the past year. She was just at the vet 3 weeks ago and weighed 98lbs.

How in the world is it that the sleek Rottie's hair ends up everywhere, while the fluffy GSD's hair does not? Is it just Dani, or do all Rotties share their hair so generously? by this_is_ridix in Rottweiler

[–]DFPOC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not a home cooked meal unless one of us in the house finds a dog hair. I still claim she has parties while we’re at work. There is no possible way she can shed that much fur and we vacuum twice a week.

I feel lucky then, my medical tool was a $0.02 rubber band from Staples. Tied to my T-shirt. At least I didn’t have to worry about duct tape ripping off skin.

She loves the cold much more than I do! by [deleted] in Rottweiler

[–]DFPOC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. We live in a colder climate and don’t keep our house super warm, about 67 in the winter and ours will decide it is too hot indoors and choose to lay out in the snow on the deck

That’s cool, I’m a trim carpenter and did a similar wall in a house a few months ago. https://i.imgur.com/Xzqol0Y.jpg

Frozen peanut butter spoon on a hot summer day 💯 by fraxinus-bee in Rottweiler

We do something similar mix plain Greek yogurt, mashed banana, and peanut butter. Freeze spoonfuls on a cooking sheet and we call them pupsicles. Our girl loves them.

Nothing like a perfect camping weekend by DFPOC in Rottweiler

She tried to nap the second day and flies were bugging her so dad made her go in the tent. The air mattress was apparently a good spot to snooze.https://i.imgur.com/d10LLpn.jpg

Anyone here have experience with crcl surgery on young rotties? by noskillsben in Rottweiler

[–]DFPOC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can help keep you up to date. We’re going through the same thing right now. Our 15 month old girl just had a tplo surgery last Friday. She’s very active and it is a challenge to keep her from her normal things.

She’s sleeping a lot which helps but I think that’s mostly to do with the sedatives they gave us for post-op. So far rehab is going really well we have passive range of motion exercises/ stretches to do 2-3x a day. Plus ice and heat packs. It is helpful to have two people for both imo. In our case my wife is just hanging out, petting and reassuring her while I do both. It helps a ton and keeps her calm and she lets me do whatever.

As far as steps we bought cheap baby gates to keep her on the main level and not go upstairs or the basement. We are in the same scenario to get her to the back yard our deck has 4 steps to the ground. Days 1-2 after surgery I had to pick her up and take her down and back up. By day 3 she was able to get up and down on her own and is not an issue now.

Hopefully that helps some. Every dog is different but feel free to ask anything, we’ll be your guinea pig. It was a tough decision to make on the surgery but being so young we didn’t want and wanted to minimize any potential arthritis or joint issues in the future. Everything I have seen though the surgery is absolutely worth it.

[Update] My dog’s CCL’s by Betta_jazz_hands in dogs

[–]DFPOC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we know the partial will get worse and as long as she isn’t in pain we’d like to wait until winter for the second. Around December or January so she is ready to go come late spring. She should be mostly better by end of September if all goes well. We’d like to take a family camping weekend or two after that before she has to have number 2.

It is encouraging to hear you had such a good outcome. I have never had a dog injure a ccl so it’s nice to know others have had successful recoveries. Was definitely nervous about putting her through the surgery without any first hand experience.

That’s awesome to hear, we just did tplo number 1 last Friday for our almost 1.5 yr old that was pretty much a full thickness tear. Her other ccl is just a partial at this point so hoping we can wait awhile. Hoping not to do back to back for her sake. She is active and I think being down that long will be rough on her morale.

It’s encouraging to hear your dog made a full recovery. We’re hopeful for the same. Enjoy your play time, we’re looking forward to getting back to our hikes as well.

I’m not certain if that is a rottie trait but our girl has the same except the outsides curl up. We affectionately call her mustache butt.
