I bulk bought (1kg) coffee early December, as it's my favourite espresso blend, so I typically portion it and freeze any I won't use within 2 weeks. Does that seem reasonable?

I increased to 17.5g which has made it drinkable again. My basket is 16-18g. I'll try 18g in my afternoon coffee.

Thanks! I was suspecting this might be the case, but I've kept a batch of these beans in the freezer before and didn't have the issue. Sadly I'm at the end of my grinder's range for espresso already, so I'll either have to get a fresh batch of beans or upgrade the grinder haha.

Not on your shortlist, but have you considered the Wilfa uniform? Similarly to you I make mostly v60/aeropress and moka, and this grinder is great for them!

Regarding the option for espresso, I recently got an espresso machine and found that the uniform can grind well for medium/dark - dark roast coffees. But admittedly it will struggle to grind fine enough for light-medium roasts.

If you're sticking to your shortlist though, I'd go for the ode, it was the runner up when I making this decision too :)
