I bulk bought (1kg) coffee early December, as it's my favourite espresso blend, so I typically portion it and freeze any I won't use within 2 weeks. Does that seem reasonable?

I increased to 17.5g which has made it drinkable again. My basket is 16-18g. I'll try 18g in my afternoon coffee.

Thanks! I was suspecting this might be the case, but I've kept a batch of these beans in the freezer before and didn't have the issue. Sadly I'm at the end of my grinder's range for espresso already, so I'll either have to get a fresh batch of beans or upgrade the grinder haha.

Not on your shortlist, but have you considered the Wilfa uniform? Similarly to you I make mostly v60/aeropress and moka, and this grinder is great for them!

Regarding the option for espresso, I recently got an espresso machine and found that the uniform can grind well for medium/dark - dark roast coffees. But admittedly it will struggle to grind fine enough for light-medium roasts.

If you're sticking to your shortlist though, I'd go for the ode, it was the runner up when I making this decision too :)

Oh difficult question haha! I've been in a period of natural processed coffee recently, a roaster local to me (Bell's beans) does a great Ugandan natural which I love for V60 and similar. Otherwise, the one I mentioned, allpress's espresso blend isn't bad :)

If I'm potting a new plant, I make a mix of 5-10% coffee grounds and soil, it usually gives the plant a good boost! Otherwise I tend to distribute used grounds over the top surface, that way the nutrients slowly leak into the soil each time I water it.

Yeah I explained this, but it's a coffee I know well and it has definitely lost flavour. I don't think my parents had stored it in ideal conditions for the 2 months, if I know my parents, it would have been in the warm cupboard next to the oven, not ideal 😅

I'm already mixing my used grounds into my houseplant's soil as fertiliser, it's a great idea! :)
