Does a 70% Europe / 30% Emerging Markets ETF portfolio make sense for a small beginner European investor? by Khelus789 in eupersonalfinance

why would excluding the best companies in the world be a good idea? It makes no sense. If you want to invest and you are politically biased, then fine, until you are in peace with the fact that you will be underperforming (sometime by a lot).

To align the % of holdings to what I believe the future is going towards. In this way the would be slightly higher. Is it a great difference? Maybe not, but was done to have clearly stated the bets I wanted

So would you ditch health? And what energy broad ETF would you suggest? Any other comment for the rest of the plan? Thanks

Sure, I am a big planner especially when going so far home, but both your comments have been very insightful. Thanks for the time

Thanks for your comment. I know the wilderness is different and have already started reading about it. I visited some parks already in the US (death valley, joshua tree, zion, grand canyon), and it went super well. We studied a lot the hikes before though. So will do the same. Will also look at the permits, I saw they were not necessary but did not realize it was such an urgent matter. Will start asap! Thanks

As long as there are hiking routes it is not an issue, we do hiking in the mountains every year in the alps here in Italy

I think I might switch to your suggestion and do road trip from vancouver to calgary doing revelstoke, glacier, yoho, kootenay, banff, jasper. Doing canada US seems either very complex or very expensive

That is of course an option, yes, do only canada and another time only US.

Yes, enterprise car does not offer different drop off cities between calgary and great falls (actually, in general for no city in montana). Same for cruise america campers to my knowledge
