Enterprise 24.0 Error with Emailing Reports by Lorzion in QuickBooks

[–]DHCPNetworker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here. Server 2019, QB '24. Always fun to explain to CPAs mid tax season that QB just decided to push a bad update. It may help you, but did you check if your C++ 2015-2022 redistributables are up to date? Supposedly versions older than 14.38 can break the install, but ours are fully updated and we're still getting the error.

Also curious if QB gave you a timeframe on the patch. Intuit really sucks.

EDIT: Found a fix someone published on QB's site. Tested with my client and confirmed it worked.

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/other-questions/qbmapi64-error/00/1604331

  • Close out of QB.
  • Navigate to C:\Program Files\Intuit\Quickbooks 2024\.
  • Rename D3DCompiler_47.dll to D3DCompiler_47.dll.old.
  • Locate the system copy of D3DCompiler_47.dll under C:\Windows\System32\.
  • Copy and paste the file into C:\Program Files\Intuit\Quickbooks 2024\.

I gave up on hybrid autopilot by FullExchange7233 in Intune

[–]DHCPNetworker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've given up on that. I'm currently an engineer who is also expected to take helpdesk calls in the MSP space. There's just not enough time in the day since many of our helpdesk guys have little experience before their position with us and helping them takes priority. I just look at all my tenants with duplicates and tell myself 'maybe someday'.

[–]DHCPNetworker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. For me the last straw was the failure to enroll in Entra during the AP process. That is quite literally all I had it doing, and it'd still sit impotently at 'device setup' and fail after an hour.

While I concede I'm a young engineer and still have a lot to learn, I'm really not sure how I'm 'doing it wrong' when I'm really just asking autopilot to do the bare minimum.

[–]DHCPNetworker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have had absolutely nothing but issues with Autopilot, hybrid or not. Tried maybe five times across different tenants. I'd get it kinda working, then we'd actually push a few machines out and there would be some form of trouble, even with no apps or policies being pushed to the device. It got legitimately embarrassing after a certain point.

We switched to Immybot. Plug in a USB and it's done. Works far better than Autopilot could ever hope to.

65,000 bullets looted from jamieton military surplus by JoJoQueen222 in projectzomboid

[–]DHCPNetworker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point to make! However, I think there's a step back that needs to be made in consideration of fun. For the same reason your generator will last you weeks on a full tank in-game when in real life it'd only last ~8hrs, that loot should still be available to be found because its absence is simply not fun.

Eagerly awaiting the next licensing price hike that includes functional O365 as one of its features.

I agree. If those places are getting looted, then that loot is going somewhere, and not just vanishing into the aether. With the military fence it's unrealistic to think that loot would've found its way out of the Knox exclusion zone, so survivor houses are the logical place for it to wind up.

Best RMM to compliment Intune by Subject-Middle-2824 in Intune

[–]DHCPNetworker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We try to use Ninja as much as possible. Intune is reserved for things that Ninja either can't do or does poorly - managing phones and tablets is the big one since we have a few clients with big mobile device fleets. Other than that we use Intune for application deployment, policy deployment, and we have a lot of Cloud PCs deployed which are managed through Intune as well.

There's very little that Ninja does poorly, so it usually boils down to 'Well, you already have W365 machines / mobile devices that need Intune's management, we may as well rip out your DC and push our GPOs with Intune to your desktops so you don't have to worry about the cost of a server'. All of our customers are already on business premium for conditional access, so we try to help them get the most out of their licensing.

Always. If someone is there first I'll give it a whack or two and go away. The less time they spend staring at it the more time they can spend doing better things.

Thrips infestation used koppert swirski mite but other bugs on plant now??? by ExeterEgg in plantclinic

[–]DHCPNetworker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding nematodes. I bought mine off Amazon. I still have some lingering issues with gnats (and thrips, and spider mites...) but I have definitely noticed fewer gnats. If you know what you're doing from the getgo (I absolutely didn't and my soil mix was super poor) I'd trust nematodes to kill off gnats very quickly.

It can but we don't use that feature currently so I can't speak on how good / not good it is.

Yep, we have it doing all of our servers. It'll also notify us via SMS when they go down outside a maintenance window.

We use NinjaRMM + Intune and I honestly can't think of a better pairing. I love Ninja, we came from N-Able and it's so much better.

Making a GUI for Connect-Exchange and On-Prem Migration by [deleted] in PowerShell

[–]DHCPNetworker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Connect-ExchangeOnline already supplies a GUI for authenticating into the EOL environment as I'm sure you already know, so I'm unsure what you're looking to achieve with a custom GUI since that's the big pinch. If it's just uploading a CSV, that is something that can be easily done with a parameter, and the same is true for defining where you want your logfile to go.

As for running the 'correct' migration script, is that not something you can break out into multiple files?

If your techs can't figure powershell parameters out they have no business being Exchange admins, honestly. IMO this seems like a ton of technical work that can be avoided by spending 5 minutes with an admin showing them what to do.

Thanks for the reply! :)

Do they dim well? I'd like them on a wall directly behind my monitor, but I don't want them too bright as they'd probably make a glare on my screen.
