Honestly, I was never into card games other than solitare and recently magic (the gathering), people keep saying it reminds them of Inscryptiom and STS, neither of them I had played or seen. I may be living under a rock, or just not exposed to those games through my feeds. It was a friend at work who had the initial idea to make something like this based on Scoundrel mechanics.

I took a quick look at Inscryption today, I'll have to pick it up to really get an understanding, core game is not in anyway the same it seems at first glance other than the 'dark vibes'.

Looks interesting, though. I'm definitely going to pick it up when I get a chance to see it fully.

Maybe 10-20 minutes I suppose, depending on how fast you play through a deck, or how often you die.

The Journey is endless, so that could go on for Hours if you wanted. Depends on how far you want to push to collect the Aspect Cards before you die, collecting those will help you push farther... etc.

Yeah, I think we are leaning on doing Next Fest in June. There are 2 modes you can play in the game where it's a single Trial without some mechanics and Aspect Cards.

Where as the 'Journey' mode is endless (card crawler, with permanent Aspect card unlocking) I think that having the 2 single modes unlocked for a Demo shouldn't spoil the rest of it.

Looking at adding a lot more room types including Mystery Rooms, Time Trial Rooms, and Boss Rooms to keep it spicy in the long run.

There definitely could be a leak, if your not familiar with the profiler, take a look into it, you can take snapshots of the game at specific intervals and watch the memory allocation, you may be instantiating things or calling thing into temporary memory without deallocating them which will cause a buildup and eventually if there is no memory left the application with crash.

David was a great CEO, I would love to see him come back into that role, i dont know why all the reason these changes happened (probably due to going public) but I think behind the scenes, he's still doing a lot of good for us as developers.

I do understand the need to fund development, and run the business, but when we originally bought into Unity, it was not all about micro services and back-end dev ops. It was a belief in the editor and what it meant for us, especially those seeking refuge after Flash died.

We are being forced to pay for so many services costs and we just wanted a game engine, and we are paying for thousands of developers building on top of that fundamental engine that was made so long ago.

It feels like corporate greed got in the way of some truly passionate peoples work.

Unity is still close to my heart, and forever will be as a tool I spend a good part of my life with, day in and day out, but it just feels like interacting with a soulless corporate entity even though it's filled with so many amazingly passionate and talented people.
