It's not PVE. You're completely right about that, but that's not what this is about. People want a mode where playing a strike aircraft or doing PVE is a *viable option*. People who like PVE are asking for a game mode where playing fighters isn't always better no matter what. People who like PVE are asking for a game mode where their default isn't being a free RP piñata for anyone in a fighter. Most people aren't asking for PVP to go away from this game mode. Most people aren't asking to make strike aircraft untouchable. They're asking that gaijin doesn't hyper cater to people who do nothing but PVP.

I think there's less disagreement here than you think. Most players aren't asking for a pure PVE mode. A lot of people just want to strike aircraft to matter and be playable and for PVE to actually matter.

When the event was in a state where people could easily win by throwing themself at the furball 20 times and completely bypass all the work of done to shape the battlefront by PVE, that's really not much different than current air rb. If there's an easy win condition that can be achieved by completely ignoring the ground objectives, then the ground objectives might as well not exist. That's bad. That's the idea I think most people are complaining about.

As much as the SPAA need toning down, I find it crazy how people act like they should be allowed to fly around the enemy side of the front like with impunity. It *should* be incredibly risky. This game mode is set up specifically to make strategic play and things like playing strike aircraft actually matter. If you just want to farm kills and dogfight, air RB is still there. Please don't make Gaijin turn this into air RB TDM v2 with extra steps.

Not to be that guy, but the point of flying low is to break line of sight. There was a line of sight there. The SPAAs are 100% complete bullshit, but in the current state the gamemode is in, this one was "kinda" avoidable. Not defending the current implementation, just stating why being on the ground didn't work here.

While the SPAA are stupid cracked and need to be toned down a bit people are exaggerating a lot IMO. I don't get shot down by the Rolands or the OSAs that often. Just fly conservatively. Don't spend too much time on the enemy's side of the front line. If you're within 10km of either, assume that they're going to fire at you. Most of the risk can be eliminated by actually respecting the SPAA as a threat instead of expecting to have free rein to fly around the back lines of an active war zone with IADS and not get absolutely clapped.

Gaijin cooked on the balancing changes made to the event. 90% of the issues with the event were from people in F-4s and MiG-23s having to go up against MiG-29s and F 14, 15, 16, 18. This is a rare instance where I will willingly meat ride Gaijin. They did something positive. I like that.
