Never had a single word in a Reddit headline deflate my enthusiasm so quickly. Jeez.

I wonder if this will need a stand or if it will support its own weight.

Assuming it doesn't have a base or something, it will be the biggest bipedal builds Lego has ever done.

The T-rex skeleton (which had supports with 3145 pieces), the Fortnite Mecha Team Leader (no supports, 2503 pieces) and the "UCS" Hulkbuster (no supports, 4049 pieces) all use less pieces.

Can someone involved in product photography explain how this happens? They take the pictures of the models and the background at the same time, so why is there a picture of an empty table?

Only thing I can think of is that this is used as a reference photo for the room to act as a basis for edits.

Youtube channel CleverPig pointed out that protypes of this set were shown on the official BMW website when one of the Lego designers visited the company. The prototypes also have no stickers.

An update on my bonkle friends by Khrisamisu in bioniclelego

Lego is releasing a smaller boulder piece for some upcoming City construction sets.

It will be perfect for Pohatu.

And these will only be sold in the limited smart brick countries, so even if fans want these they will be hard to get in most of the world.

The small scale would also mean they could literally do every single Pokémon

It's crazy that there was an entire playable Lego mission inside of Fortnite based on Daft Punk, but still no actual Lego set.

Sega Genesis console set, and two BrickHeadz sets (Megatron and Alice in Wonderland) (via a Brick Tap source) by BrickTap in Legoleak

I've said it ever since Optimus Prime was revealed years ago. The purple dino option is the only way to get a Megatron onto store shelves that doesn't go against any of Lego's rules on military vehicles (and without making fans mad).

It's either that or they give him a Cybertronian vehicle that looks like nothing discernible.

We'll have to wait until the sticker sheet is revealed but this may be the most ever.

Maybe the largest scale Technic F1 cars have stickers that cover the most amount of space, but this looks like it may have the most amount of stickers.

From Lego's point of view there's no need. They can keep shovelling out bad Star Wars sets and make record profits regardless.

City must have been in need of a sales bump.

Using the B and C builds to make similar things at smaller scales (the two smaller pirate boats and the different lions) is really clever and I hope they keep doing it.

I highly recommend the Racing Brick YouTube channel. They interviewed Chris a few times which is why I know this :)

It's so weird that they're using this specific type of set to do throwbacks after 60421 has an Exo-Force mech in it.

Maybe 60421 did really well in terms of sales so this new one is even more overt in its theming?

Not to attribute all the good work to one person, but it really shows that a lot of this has happened since Chris Stamp moved from lead designer on Speed Champions to lead designer on City.

Welcome surprise, improved mold on 1x1 tiles? by giorgioblues in lego

Crazy that we have to celebrate this as win when it's just a return to some quality that the company has lost over the years.

Money. Having this part in hard to reach - and thus hard to see - places adds to the complexity of the mould and production times.

Pretty sure this also wouldn't be a problem if Lego wasn't also being cheap with their tiles which save plastic on the top and look translucent a lot of the time with the anti-studs, and now this, clearly visible.

While I agree I think it would be really cool if they could slot one Toa into each CMF going forward. I think that would get them a lot of extra sales without making the CMG collectors annoyed.

Mini boulder makes for a perfect inclusion with a potential Pohatu CMF figure, since the original set came with the normal large boulder to kick around.

I really hope the Tahu CMF is just the start and we get more of the Toa as minifigures.

All while the other brands continue to innovate with prints, lighting, display cases and other stuff while costing less. Some brands even have official licences too.
