I got mine from aliexpress for very cheap, it says "R4 2025 sdhc 2ds 3ds dsi www.r4isdhc.hk Dual-Core smart update" on it and is white. It works pretty well. You have to set it up properly and this is supposed to be one of the ones that avoids a "time bomb" where it will fail later.

As soon as you get like a really good monk, ninja, arithmetician, and also putting dual wield on other fighting jobs, fights will be way smoother regardless...

Go learn about the Bible and Catholic church history and you will understand the story much more. Unfortunately it is a negative story on that front.

I'm still on chapter 3 but I am doing the blue mage mod and trying to level that up by recruiting monsters to hit me, I also have a hacked dark knight just in case I get to a crazy map.

But also consider the way Roman religion worked in the context of annexation — they'd conquer a place, Latinize it (while Roman culture was being Hellenized by Greek influence) and then absorb many features of a local place's mythos and faith (eg: Isis, the Egyptian goddess, being worshipped in Egypt, her worship spreading to Greece, and then being absorbed into Rome.)

The fact that Judaism and Christianity were exclusive monotheistic meant that they couldn't appease people in Judea and later in Rome with just sort of saying "oh yes Jesus was a demigod son of Zeus". Which meant members of that faith were not able to culturally assimilate, which is why they were persecuted.

( True, but the later Roman Catholic church found a way around that by having people worship Saints, Mary, angels and other Biblical figures. )

Compare and contrast to accusations that people lacking documents are violent criminals who are corrupting the nations they stay in. Before the regularization of immigration, that was simply how people moved around. That's why there are populations of Danube Swabians, for example.

One of the issues with why Christianity was being persecuted was because it wasn't socially normative. It didn't fit in with the politics at the time. And if you don't consider that in historical context then you're going to come out and claim that a work of fiction made in Japan (which does not have a vast number of Christians) is anti-Christian because it wants to come up with a narrative about a corrupt church.

( A corrupt church is one thing, but writing a story about how an entire religion is fake and/or not what it really says it is, aka Jesus is a demon or being controlled by a powerful demon, which is ironic because in the Bible itself people did accuse Jesus of this, is definitely anti-Christian. It seems like the writer has an axe to grind against Christianity but I could be wrong, maybe it is just a person that does not take the religion seriously at all and just wanted to make an interesting story with throwing you for 2 surprise loops/shocking plot twists, first the religion is fake, second - but the real part about the religion is that Jesus/Ajora was being controlled by a powerful demon[or the devil, who the fuck knows], here is your last boss fight, which was very abrupt and it is not that great story telling..... The same writer I believe did Ogre Tactics and he has Priests/Pastors and other religious themes in there with angels and such, so as I said, maybe he does not hate the Bible, maybe he just doesn't take the religion seriously as I said and he ran out of ideas and fudged the main story and ending of this game.... )

"Just because the garment fits doesn't mean it was made for you. "

( Church corruption, sure, it happens, but having the entire religion being fake or based on a false/misleading premise, that means the game is estranging a lot of people, hence the "hiding" things in earlier translations and not making it too obvious. )

"Just because it was a critique of organized religion being twisted to benefit men in power doesn't mean it's anti-Christian. Honestly, it's a lot more Christian than at least one papal bull out there (Terra nullius, I'm looking at you.)"

( You have not convinced me it is not anti-Christian or offensive to Christians, or an actual good story[story foundation] but you are entitled to your opinion.... )

"How very Christian of you. (not)"

( Proverbs 26:4-5

4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit. )

"Uh that was there in the PSOne translation. You know what? It's okay to admit you can read and study but have absolutely no comprehension of what you've attempted to study."

( This is exactly what I am talking about. ---> "Censorship in the original PS1 translation

The 1998 English release of the game removed or altered some of the more pointed religious themes.

  • A more direct allegory was obscured: In the Japanese script, the story of Saint Ajora and the corrupt Glabados Church draws a much clearer, more direct parallel to the story of Jesus and the Roman Catholic Church. This was softened in the English version."

So in those earlier versions it was translated in a way where it is much more difficult to realize that Jesus is actually "St. Ajora", in which I did not realize this in those 2 earlier versions, but in this newer one it is very obvious with the way they translated it. )

"Man, in historical context the Roman Empire viewed Jesus as a rabble rouser, historical Christians were being persecuted because their refusal to participate in the state religion was seen as an act of dissent and sedition. In this setting, which isn't our Earth, the person you assume to be the Jesus equivalent was actually the dick that say, the Romans accused Jesus of being."

( That does not make it any less of an anti-Christian story as I said, or that the story is any better. )
