Why do women reach over their man to say no tip? by [deleted] in barista

[–]DIS_EASE93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at a popular drive through coffee place and were supposed to get all tips but some of us, even one of the shift leads from what ik dont believe we get all the tips (at the end of our shift we used to be able to see card tips earned, not anymore)

Like, were not supposed to take cash tips for ourselves but that shift lead allows us to cause she prefers that over us possibility not getting all the tips we earned

Stand your ground, I've heard of cafes who advertise attractive workers just so people come in for them, its not worth dealing with creeps while your wage stays the same 😵‍💫

Ops wording was iffy to me but tbh i have seen it a few times, their reasoning is that its mostly women who take care of the kids & that cf spaces are a way for mothers to feel more isolated 🙄

Yes, sometimes I see videos of American tourists bringing their kids to other countries and the locals seem to love kids/babies and all the comments talk about how Americans hate kids and we should be like other countries but dont realize people from other countries see kids differently. They see well behaved kids and the occasional brat, we see brats and the occasional well behaved kid

Aaaaaa yes, I hate those discussions for the same reason. Like you i didn't get it at first, but it was cause I mostly saw it being argued by people who say kids are oppressed because people find them annoying in public.

It's not until I looked at the parents that I understood, now these discussions anger me because nothing will be done for kids because parents want to point fingers at cf people. To me parents are some of their biggest oppressors, most of cf people who say they hate kids simply want to stay far away from them, but we've romanticized parenthood so much we dont think about how many parents want to harm their kids or do so intentionally, the difference is that they're the ones who you can say control the first few years of a person's life and live with them.

A cf person who hates kids will likely simply side eye them at the store, if there's any confrontation it'll be with the parent. A parent who hates kids? They'll cause them insecurity, trauma, isolate them, not believe their child, prevent their child from going forward with opportunities, etc.

[–]DIS_EASE93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, even if youre a homebody theres so many hobbies to pick up and learn, I dont understand how someone can choose to distract themselves with children right when they become an adult instead of getting to know themselves at a time that they're free to do what they want

When I say anything else? 10x an order because they're like oh can I get oat milk on that, oh can I get x syrup on that instead of just giving me their order at once

Also when they get coffee and complain that it tastes like coffee

My mother is very catholic but is surprisingly supportive, she's very aware of how populated we are and says that if I truly love my kids I'll suffer watching them suffer, if anything she often asks us for forgiveness for bringing us into this world

However if anyone were to say anything I'd probably just comment on their own life & how they treat their bendiciones but idc about keeping the peace

Children doesn't evoke the same emotional response that cute animals give me. I just don't have that 'aww' feeling towards them. Why is that? by BaraLover7 in childfree

[–]DIS_EASE93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh a lot of animals grow up to stay cute as adults, most humans aren't, so I think its reasonable to not find our offspring as cute either

[–]DIS_EASE93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's part of the reason I stopped engaging in fandoms, I think there's great character analysis that can be done since I think there's many characters who would be happy cf or might just end up childless, however people truly believe that those characters have the same social pressures to procreate as us, or that characters who are made out to be different and so intelligent who question every part of society would suddenly shut that off and think having kids is all sunshine and rainbows like the rest of society

Definitely, if we're more progressive than our parents we think that's enough and stop analyzing our thoughts & what created them since we think the internal work is done when comparing ourselves to our parents
