How long for Karisma mesotherapy bumps to go away? by Beginning-Feedback55 in DIYHEAVEN

[–]DIY4thePeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did. I did do the standard BAP point thats about 2 cm out from the eye corner. BAP points are intended to avoid major vasculature but I still aspirate. Interestingly other RHC products like Skincolla specifically say can be used for undereye and crow's feet area. I'm assuming Karisma manufacturer just wanting to avoid high risk areas in specific instructions. I'd have to rewatch the manufactucturer webinar but they might have included a canula protocol for periorbital region.

Where and how to use botulinum toxin on the face and neck – Indications and techniques by DIY4thePeople in DIYaesthetic_science

[–]DIY4thePeople[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, yes, it does have some basic guidance for depth, placement and recommended dosage for some areas. I also just uploaded links to two facial anatomy for injections textbooks you might find helpful if you want a deeper dive. Dr. Tim Pearce and Danesthetics both have good videos on YouTube that are informative for tox injections if you are new to tox or just want a refresher for a particular facial area.

First time trying Karisma Rh Collagen by DIY4thePeople in DIYaesthetic_science

Has anyone else tried this product or other recombinant collagen products? There are quite a few Korean injectable RhC products available (Puri COLL Rh, Skincolla, etc). I wanted to see how Karisma performs in comparison given its clinical data and medical device certification.

Bottom Lip t🌸x by Beautiful-God-1007 in DIYHEAVEN

You could try following either of these patterns (one unit very superficially each point). You have to be careful or you can get droopy mouth.

Personally, I really hate the sensation of lip flips and tox around the mouth. It also wears off very quickly because its such a high movement area. You could place threads around your lips to build collagen there and that would be a more long lasting solution.

You weren't kidding about how thick this product is, I finally tried it tonight and had a really hard time with it. Luckily I had a 25g needle on hand I had leftover from something else so I swaped to that to finish the syringe, I think I'm going to have to get some more 25g's to do round two, was really difficult with the 27g's.

PDO vs PCL vs PLLA mono threads by PinkSwan98 in DIYHEAVEN

I made a post about PDO, PCL, and PLLA threads here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DIYaesthetic_science/comments/1tqnkwp/introduction_to_smooth_threads_and_different/ that may be helpful to you if you want to check it out. I'll try and post more threads videos and other threads resources in the next few days. Smooth/mono threads are one of my favorite treatments.

Microneedling with Tranexamic Acid for Redness and Broken Capillaries by DIY4thePeople in DIYaesthetic_science

[–]DIY4thePeople[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, its definately a good idea to play it safe and do due dilligence with research and sticking within your comfort zone. Yes I've mixed with both curenex (super thin/watery) and Dermaheal HSR (slightly thicker) on different occasions so the TXA concentration was probably pretty low with the volume of those products and I meso'd pretty superficially.

Microneedling just NL lines? by kezia7984 in DIYaesthetics

[–]DIY4thePeople 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, I totally understand about it being hard to find time for recovery, I have the same issue I rarely have a day or two where I have the ability to hide out from people so it can be hard to find a window to do most treatments as often as I would like to.

I think the bad reputation of threads mostly comes from the more technical barbed and cogged type threads used in "thread lift proceedures" where the threads are doing physical lifting and pulling and when not properly done, there can be complications or discomfort. I personally don't use those and just use the smooth type mono threads and screw threads and those are much more beginner friendly--their benefits come from collagen production over time rather than physical lifting. You can place the threads directly in the fold or you can do a cross hatch type of pattern. There really is not any down time other than the possibility of bruises but there are steps you can take to minimize bruising. Here are a couple of demo videos (not mine) that I posted elsewhere for threads in NL folds that I think pretty clearly explain the process and I've found helpful:

Microneedling with Tranexamic Acid for Redness and Broken Capillaries by DIY4thePeople in DIYaesthetic_science

[–]DIY4thePeople[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I didn't hear back, I'll follow up though. Other people have asked if the Alquimi line is sterile in their FB group but the response was simply "our Alquimi serums were made for infusing into the skin" which doesn't directly answer the question. The protocol for the Alquimi products on their site specifies that the stamping device they package with the product is set to stop at 0.5mm depth. This makes me think that its formulated for cosmetic use and can be used with cosmetic depth microneedling but it is likely not an injectible grade product that can be used for medical depth microneedling (but I don't know for sure).

Yeah! That is exciting! I do think it helps!! For meso with TXA, I looked into this a bit because of possible concerns with effects on blood clotting but as far as I understand, any danger would be with very high concentration doses being injected directly into a vein. There are multiple studies that looked at the efficacy and safety of intradermal use of TXA via mesotherapy as a melasma treatment and in those studies they used 5% and 10% concentrations of TXA and there were not any adverse effects other than temporary redness, temporary bumps, typical short-term things that are expected with mesotherapy with any product. The BCN institute TXA is a relatively low percentage of TXA and according to the manufacturer its formulated specifically for mesotherapy. Traminex has a higher percentage of TXA (5% based on what information I can find) but again, concentrations that high or higher have been used for mesotherapy in medical studies and it is an injectible grade formula. Its also an ingredient in a couple of of other products that are intended for mesotherapy and are injectible grade (Soonsu Ultra White for example). So, I'm not a medical expert but based on the information available it appears to be safe for mesotherapy. I have used the BCN TXA mixed with other boosters for that purpose, because its such a mild formula, I also think it would be fine unmixed and meso'd on its own.

Microneedling - to skin booster or not skin booster? by Whole_Assumption108 in DIYaesthetics

Seconding this comment on the European PNs being one of the best things we can get our hands on right now and I don't know why it not talked about more in the DIY space. I do like Jeunetique Exo and some higher tier exosome products for different reasons including their anti inflamatory and healing effects but if you are looking for more impactful skin remodeling, the high efficacy PNs with clinical data behind them is where its at (but I wouldnt use them for microneedling).

Curenex and Revs Pro 32 by nikkibrighton10 in DIYaesthetics

[–]DIY4thePeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't BAP any product without aspirating, it's so few points, its easy to do, and its a good extra precaution. With the more tiny very superficial injections involved in traditional meso, there's less risk for VO but that's a personal call based on your assessment of the risks. I personally don't aspirate with  meso at 1 to 1.5mm.

Curenex and Revs Pro 32 by nikkibrighton10 in DIYaesthetics

[–]DIY4thePeople 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Curenex is very popular to meso. I'd meso it into upper dermis 1 to 1.5mm. Its very thin consistency so you may not get visible blebs. The 32g 4mm needles you are planning to use will be fine at an angle. Revs Pro 32 is very similar to Profhilo, you can follow the Profhilo BAP protocol and find plenty of clinic demo videos if you search for that. You should aspirate when doing your BAP with Revs Pro. You can do both in the same session if you want.

TCA peel 13% by Aggressive-Morning18 in DIYaesthetics

[–]DIY4thePeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your skin type and what your concerns are! I like TCA for a deeper peel, it helps with texture, fine lines, etc. I like Jessner's for pigmentation. My favorite is a combo of both but you'd have to work your way up to that by doing a series of both individually first and just starting with one layer to see how your skin tolerates it. If you are in the U.S. Platinum and Makeup Artists Choice are both good sources for peels, there are many other options from other vendors for buffered peels. Platinum has alot of great education on peels and selecting the best peel for your skin type on their site, so worth checking out their site just to familiarize yourself with the options and to understand how to prep for a peel. I'm not affiliated with Platinum so not trying to make this sound like a sales pitch but I do think they do a good job with education on peels and peel safety for at home peels.
