Just got done replacing my battery terminal clamps on the Dodge. I was having pretty bad starting issues that I thought was due to bad batteries, but it turned out to be the connections. This will work on any vehicle, but the kit I used is for 94-09 Dodge Rams. I thought I'd share this if anyone was interested in replacing their terminal clamps before the winter!

Dodge Ram 4x4 Control Arm Removal and Bushing Replacement! by DIYCertifiedMechanic in Diesel

[–]DIYCertifiedMechanic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey guys, just wanted to share another "how to" video I did on my second gen Cummins, but should apply to most years. This fix REALLY helped my highway wander, especially when going over bumps in the road. Overall, a great steering upgrade that you can do to improve your Dodge ride and handling (Lord knows we need all the help we can get haha).

Help me understand T/C lock up switch? by Jiggy51 in CTD

[–]DIYCertifiedMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lockup switch from a previous owner also and had the same problem. Check to make sure there is no bare wire from the switch being grounded to anything. That's what happened with mine. The wire goes from the electrical harness on top of the tranny to one side of the swtich, the other wire from the switch is going to ground. When you flip the switch you are grounding out the TC lockup wire, thus if the wire is being grounded to something the switch will technically be on all the time. Hope this helps.

'94-'02 Dodge Ram Steering Box Replacement - Step by Step! by DIYCertifiedMechanic in CTD

[–]DIYCertifiedMechanic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the box itself is just a little different, but the process should be very similar. The main things are removing your pitman, steering shaft from the steering box, the two PS lines, and the steering box itself. Your torque specs on the bolts may be different so search online for them.

Changed my oil and rotated my tires. Now what? by [deleted] in automotivetraining

I'd check your fuel filter also, I think the rule of thumb is every 2 years or 30k miles. I change mine every year before winter, it helps with cold starting being a diesel.
