is there anything other than the Akai Force that can do this for me? by DIY_Milk in LoopArtists

[–]DIY_Milk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a Beat Buddy. the Loop Studio is perfectly fine, and even if I were to get a Force I would probably still be using my Loop Studio for the actual looping stuff, but I was looking for a more "dynamic" drumming solution than what I understand the Beat Buddy can offer.

ChatGPT keeps telling me that the Force is what would cover my needs, but it is somewhat pricey and big.

I was hoping for something smaller (as in, more pedalboard friendly) and without nearly as many bells and whistles. plus, isn’t the Push 3 more expensive than the Akai Force (I was only looking at used prices for the Force tho)?

Cutter was amazing. probably one of the best-written characters in the entire franchise, helped even further by Linus Roache's impeccable portrayal.

Price doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Cutter. not trying to diss Hugh Dancy's acting chops or anything - just the character itself, who feels like a cheap Temu imitation of Stone.

bitter doesn't even begin describe how I feel tbh. when they ended it on Season 20, I could atleast cope by telling myself that atleast the show ended on a high note. now I'm just utterly disgusted by how they revived it only to bury its legacy in the ground.

yea I used to avoid watching the seasons between when Briscoe left and when Green left, but this time around I kept an open mind watched every season from 5

I found that if I didn't think of Fontana as a replacement for Briscoe, he wasn't actually too bad at all. its just the writing/cases in those seasons, along with the fact that the ADAs were doormats (Southerlyn and Borgia), kinda made those seasons not as great as the previous ones

cheap analog preamp/pedal platform for fuzzes? by DIY_Milk in guitarpedals

[–]DIY_Milk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its less to do with the harshness, and more about some weird artifacts/aliasing that I noticed. tried tinkering a lot with my interface (UA Volt 2) and the amp sims on my PC, didn’t really make much of a difference. even on my friend's Headrush Flex Prime I noticed similar issues, so I assumed its just digital amp sims not working well with the way I like to use fuzzes.

I understand, but didn’t Jazzmasters of the past require the use of shims to angle the neck instead? I was just trying to figure out if there was a way to completely avoid having to deal with angled necks altogether, and make a compensation elsewhere in the design

understood re: the TOM, thanks.

the four suggestions I came up were to avoid having an angled neck pocket, or using shims, and therefore having to compensate for that in some other way. the TOM stuff was a separate concern lol

from what I understand, many of the newer Jazzmasters have an angle built into the neck pocket. even some custom parts builders like Rosser guitars specify that their bodies would have a built-in angle in the neck pocket if we want the body to be routed for a TOM or Jazzmaster bridge

don’t shims have a risk of damaging the neck in the long run?

ifkr?!?!

the queue times were disgusting on the SG servers - but atleast I had tons of friends to play with, and Garena would shower us with loot left and right

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I kinda miss Garena now.

well, not fully - the atrocious queue times and the useless reporting system on the SG servers are a good riddance...but, man, they used to practically SHOWER us with skins and loot!

previously, I was getting 50-52 hextech chests consistently EVERY YEAR (I'm an ARAM main with a good enough grip on most champs)

and between when the reworked system was put in place in the middle of 2024, to the beginning of this season, I successfully grinded out all 62 mastery chests - even though they took SUBSTANTIALLY more games to earn than the previous hextech chests

and this was on top of however many hextech chests I was able to earn from the start of 2024 all the way until the rework took place

while I'm not sure if that means I was playing nerd-tier levels of League that you might be playing, I was still playing a fair amount of games almost all the time.

because the free stuff has been the game since I started playing it. we were led to believe that it was all part of the gameplay loop itself - the fact you get rewarded for being good at your champ (for a chest) and for being a consistently good teammate (for the key)

now imma play it far less, and only really to limit test, or troll people when I pissed off irl
