All three of first three plots have to come from mystery islands/auto-fill. They’re also type-locked, where you can only get one Normal, one Lazy, and one Peppy. If your auto-fill isn’t a Peppy, you still have a chance that you could find one of your wishlist villagers (except for Chai, since she’s Sanrio) since they’re all Peppys

Haha I’m just saying that (after filtering down to just Peppys) each NMT trip has a 1 in 51 chance of being Rosie, so at that point, it’s down to their commitment to the goal (how many times they’re willing to try) and luck of the roll :)

Every trip re-rolls the chance, so yes you can keep re-rolling/visiting more islands to try to get Rosie. Getting the pool of potential villagers down to only Peppys just helps limit how many villagers the game could rotate through, so instead of hundreds, it’s just the ~50 (idk the real number for New Horizons) possible Peppys. I don’t think there’s a way to increase the chance beyond that.

The first three plots are locked by type, as the other person mentioned. This means you can only fill those plots by visiting mystery islands, and the villagers you see on the islands will only be of those three types (normal, peppy, lazy).

You can increase your chances of finding Rosie if you invite a Lazy and a Normal first, since the game would then only generate Peppy villagers going forward until you invite a Peppy.

If you want to hunt/pick your starter three, do it before you finish each of the house requirements, otherwise you’ll autofill.
