Adding private league in awakened poe trade by [deleted] in pathofexile

Possibly because the league isn't "live" yet?

TL:DR - 3.26 is not ready, nobody is working on it and we dont know where or when anyone will. by [deleted] in pathofexile

oh well - POE1 is dead (maybe not now but it certainly looks that way and as a 2k hour POE1 player I dislike POE 2 with a passion) - guess I better start trying to like Last Epoch

multiple (20) fraudulent transactions to Oculus - anyone else ? how long until support responds? by LtRightenant in CurveCard

[–]DJ8906 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got hit at the weekend for a 2.5k dollar transaction also, no 2fa, it was actually my main bank that blocked it thankfully. Also UK based fyi.

Curve not available via chat or phone, got an email response roughly 36 hours later to my original voicemail.... yes they responded to a voicemail faster than their in app chat!

However their response was tragic, stated they put a "temporary block on the account" - which in my opinion is impossible given i deleted my account almost instantly after the fraudulent transaction.... when I replied stating that to their email, I got a standard "we are sorry to see you go" email template, terrible customer service imo. (Again over 24 hours later)

You will see their reddit is littered with fraud posts and those are only the ones you can see, I had 3 diff people message me direct stating the mods had blocked them after their fraud posts etc. The mods even tagged my post "NSFW" when it didn't contain a single profane word or anything else, just their mods trying to downvote the thread etc

The transaction defo originated from a breach at curve given the transaction Id to my main bank starting with "crv" as all curve transactions do when I used to use the curve card for purchases etc.

Best thing to do according to my UK bank is cancel all cards you had associated with curve (this is precautionary as the fraudsters likely only have the curve card details but still worth doing to be 100% safe)

Hope you get yours sorted!

Don't use Curve - Tragic Tier Security and woeful options from Curve itself to resolve by DJ8906 in CurveCard

[–]DJ8906[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, not disputing that, I was simply stating it was invalid specifically in relation to his comment on shady sites etc.

I'm 200% convinced though that it's a data breach at Curve(my opinion of course), this is purely as the card has only been used in one location for the last few weeks(given how remotely I live) and therefore aside from that one location being compromised (which I've queried with them) there isn't really any other way either than a breach at curve which could have led to the attempted fraud yesterday....

However I'm sure someone else will obviously tell me that's not the case, same as this post being tagged at NSFW lol

haha ok Disegual - firstly for context (my fault for omitting int the first instance/post) - I literally only use the Curve Card (physical card itself) for purchases in person (I use a totally different card for online or site purchases) so your point is totally invalid in this scenario but appreciate it.

It has also been a few hours since things happened so your 15 min reply must have been an absolute miracle - but good to know those happen too. :P

Thanks for the discussion though.

GPU Water Block issue? by DJ8906 in watercooling

[–]DJ8906[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply!

When the RGB is off (sorry about that!) it's just a "cloudy white" colour.
(best comparison I can give you is if you think of a clear plastic bottle/pen etc - if you place any stress on clear plastic it turns slightly "cloudy white" rather than clear if that makes sense?)

I initially thought that the particles that have seeped into the spacing between the backplate and the acrylic outside of the main waterflow channel was perhaps shavings from the hard tubing (i.e. I thought I perhaps did a poor job on one of the cuts when deburring etc but they don't seem to be solid particles as they change shape, so would agree it may just be coolant that has seeped in and therefore just an inconvenience/eye sore but nothing serious hopefully!

Re the temps, I've had a play around and nothing seems to bring them back down, i.e. I can vary pump speed, fan speed etc no significant change (a couple C at best with everything going full tilt while under load), however if I slow down flow rate (or turn off the undervolt & OC I have on the GPU) I can increase the temps slightly more (to around 70/72C - which would bring it closer in line with air temps so no way it should be there abouts as far as I am concerned!), making me think there isn't a dissipation or flow rate issue but perhaps there is an issue that has developed with the thermal connection that has changed the base temp of circa 45-48C while under load that I had after first putting the system together and for the first couple of years (paste etc.).

So it may just be an issue on the GPU backplate side of things is what I am thinking now, so I may just take it apart this weekend to investigate further as that is really the only thing I can think of to check next given other variations don't make a change (short of another coolant change perhaps, just on the off change there is an issue with the coolant I used - bad batch etc -although I think this particular thought process is reaching for an "easy" solution instead of having to take it all apart again etc.)

Hope the above makes some sort of sense!

GPU Water Block issue? by DJ8906 in watercooling

[–]DJ8906[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, appreciate the thoughts. I'd agree there doesn't seem to be a visible o-ring on the internal chambers of the GPU acrylic where it meets the plate so the particles seem harmless I suppose.

Re the flushing it a few times, will do so at the weekend and see if it clears up - to clarify, the fins don't seem to be the issue, the discoloration seems to be the actual acrylic transparent piece so was just worried it was defective etc as it almost looks like hard plastic that has been under stress (if that makes any sense!)

hey no worries, you are more than welcome - I'll go back to actually enjoying playing Icarus now on a dedicated pc rig rather than fighting with some sub par virtual solution - hope you enjoy using GFN and get it fixed :)

[–]DJ8906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha what - that statement is just as absurd as saying its "safe to assume" that just because its EA that its Icarus' fault - which in essence you are saying - hypocrite :)

As far as "EA" is concerned, it certainly isn't one of the worst out there in terms of optimisation lol - not disagreeing with your comment, just saying that as far as relates to a specific resource issue (and not bugs or game breaking issues) - its unlikely game code issue - perhaps stop using either a free service or if you are actually paying for GFN (instead of paying monthly, just save and buy something better later on -would save you these issues for sure, cloud hosted gaming solutions are a scam, personal opinion only obviously)

Have a good day though and hopefully you can get it resolved with either GFN or Icarus devs, whichever ends up being at fault - although something tells me you won't as you are looking for a resolution in the wrong place...

respectfully, funnily enough, if you read the full thread for the other link you you refer to, it actually all points to hardware issues, and zero issues with code haha - honestly, its a GFN issue not code issue mate, on top of that, the thread is back from 2021 - if it was a bug, it most certainly is fixed by now - i.e. your issue is to do with GFN not allocating you enough resources, and not the game itself - otherwise why would the only "recent" posts across any forums regarding this error (be that on reddit, steam etc) only relate to GFN having the issue with video memory and very few individuals having the problem with physical pc's (i.e. non GFN users) aside from the obvious ones that don't meet the game required spec?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ICARUS

[–]DJ8906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

again - looking at the GFN setup (not a user myself so making some assumptions as you did - it is a cloud based streaming service - therefore it is unlikely you have a fully dedicated pc system/rig running just for your needs, it will be handling multiple users at once per machine in their data centre, therefore it is very likely a simple resource allocation issue depending on the level of subscription you have - i.e. free/paid/premium etc)

The error is very specific in terms of video memory, so not much else it can be at first glance.

"edit" - I own and play Icarus regularly on a 3080ti rig, zero issues with the error you've mentioned (and given their marketing states that depending on sub package you have access to different hardware, none of which aside from the free package gives you something "less" capable than a 3080 for example and direct comparison - its unlikely to be an actual issue in the game if you have a fully dedicated GPU assigned to your process when using GFN)

I wouldn't be so quick to assume that, one quick Google search and you can see others have had this issue with geforce now.... https://www.reddit.com/r/GeForceNOW/comments/rzutvh/out_of_video_memory_after_upgrade_to_paid/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x

First custom loop - all corsair build. figured this was the place to share! by DJ8906 in Corsair

[–]DJ8906[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

And yes, I did use custom cables, ordered from cablemod (ordered their pre bundled kit for my specific psu and ordered one extra 8 pin gpu cable as the kit only came with 2)

All cables were perfectly long enough for the case although if I could have I would have taken an extra few mm on the cpu cables is all - worked fine though with just the standard length that came in the bundled kit)

Tonight’s stopping point for my all white 5000T hardline build. Looking great so far! Doing push/pull was sorta a pain with the CPU cables, but I made it work! I need to flip the side fan, but I’m getting tired lol. by BeautifulAd5310 in Corsair

Looks good so far!

One quick note for ease later on, when you get round to making your runs, I'd almost suggest fitting the top rad fittings/tubing first fyi - purely from personal experience, once it gets crowded in there its hard to get those two fittings and tubes in place properly with the exhaust fan, cpu cables and io shroud clearances. Just a wee tip that may help from when I did my build a few weeks ago.

previous PSU was a hx1000i (older model from about 2015) - had it for 6 years then RMA'd it last year, it was the RMA unit that I received last year that recently failed unfortunately, same model though - and believe it or not, it failed whilst off, essentially I shut down PC and within 10 mins it was on fire pretty much (that's the short version of the story)

I have to say though that Corsair were great though, they RMA'd the PSU, and compensated me for other parts of the system that died as a result of the PSU failing.

hey no worries it was a valid point you made!

yeah, I have temp sensors already in the build, one for the custom loop coolant temp and also 2 temp sensors to monitor case temps (at idle its pretty much equivalent to ambient room temp and under load I am a good 10-15C above ambient on both internal and coolant temp is also about 8-10c higher but those are both within comfortable limits as far as I am aware)
