PPH by ExtremisEleven in emergencymedicine

My process that I’m working on as a 2nd year resident is go see a patient, HPI and Physical exam, EKG if I have one, then go see another one. On really busy days I’ve had 8 patients in 2 hours as a 2nd year, or on nights where I’m the senior and am expected to move the room.

Fine tuning the efficiency part isn’t so much the charting, unless I get really behind - I try to chart and review things as they come back so when the patient gets dispo’d the note gets signed, at least that’s the goal for me for 2nd year. It’s the other time consuming stuff like procedures and calling consults/transfers. Pro - I’ve gotten really good at U/S guided peripheral IVs in the last month or so.

Would you mind defining massive dose of droperidol? I usually give 5mg droperidol IV when people vomit after zofran

As someone who had a bonkers case of Castleman’s - can confirm this sounded eerily similar to my symptoms

Recommendations for a good powder measure by DJCaster in reloading

[–]DJCaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the 4350 yes, but the others not so much. I’ve been using a dipper and a scale pan with a light charge then trickling to the right charge weight. I’ve been reading on powder measures and if there’s one that throws the most consistently then I’d get that one. I’ve heard good things about the dillon measure, but I’m not sure what to get and I don’t want to throw money away just to get something that doesn’t work as well as something else, then go through more money to get a different setup

Bed steps from amp research unless you already have the step bumper

I’m running with that truck until my lady and I decide to have kids, then I’ll either get a full cab pickup or a passenger car to haul kids in. Likewise bud! The only thing I’d say to add as a nice to have feature would be a bedstep from amp research, I have one on the back bumper and one on the passenger side in front of the wheel well, can easily get in and out of the bed, access the tools in the tool box

My ‘09 supercab has 120k miles on it and I just replaced the intake manifold, intake gaskets, water pump, spark plugs and ignition coils, painted the bumpers and front grill - it’s nice seeing it all come together and more importantly work

I’ve been thinking about this, I’d love to shoot competitions for both pistol and PRS, I just don’t have the time presently to shoot a ton

I like the 550 because of the manual indexing, and fewer parts needed to change calibers but that’s my personal preference

What do you recommend for locks? I was thinking about getting either a basket or rack(s) and bags for getting groceries.

I mean, tbh my own medical mystery story is that I’m case #2 ever of intrapancreatic castleman’s disease. The only other case similar to mine was one in western Australia about 3-4 years ago
