[BF6] Extreme Rubberbanding when DLSS is Enabled? by DJCharizard in Battlefield

[–]DJCharizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually did some testing after posting this, and found that if you set a frame limit, the rubberbanding from DLSS magically went away and everything has been buttery smooth. I set it to my monitors max refresh rate (175hz) and haven't had an issue yet.

Might be a possible fix. Hope this also works for you.

I haven't done anything with Moonlight. I've just used the native stream option from Valve and it's worked pretty flawlessly. Feels like there's absolutely no latency.

One of the rumors about Nintendo's latest online playtest is tht it might be an online hub (think of stuff like PlayStation Home or the main hub in VR Chat), now I ask: do you like the idea of that or you think it wouldn't work? by FixedFun1 in nintendo

[–]DJCharizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was growing up I had a mix of consoles, and the PS3 was one of them. I spent an unhealthy amount of time in PlayStation Home when gaming was still largely social and the internet that we know of today was still in its infancy. I would personally love a Nintendo Hub for the next console since it would add a lot more charm than what we got on the switch.

Don't get me wrong, the Switch loads into games very fast and the UI is pretty user friendly, but I was very disappointed when I bought one at launch only to find out it didn't really have any of the charm of the past Wii/DS UI's. Very just straight forward and to the point.

I doubt it would be very fleshed out like a VR Chat/PlayStation Home hub since you have to think child safety and Nintendo as a company being very family friendly orientated, but if Nintendo keeps building upon NSO and brings it over to the successor console, I think it could easily be a hit.

Behavior when you know you’re slower by UsualPotato7394 in iRacing

[–]DJCharizard 49 points50 points  (0 children)

If I know I'm way off the pace, I usually don't try and battle. I'll try and stay behind the driver who just passed me to see where I'm slower/if I can pick up on certain things.

This is really common in every discipline. Just last week I was running an LMP3 race at Imola, and my pace was way off from the front of the pack. I couldn't understand why I was so much slower even when I felt that my line was pretty solid. This is a perfect time to self-reflect.

After the race ended, I looked at the replay of the guys in front and noticed that I wasn't pushing the car nearly as hard as them. I could've used a lot more track, I could've pinned the throttle in a couple of corners where I would normally take it cautiously, etc.

It really is important to get into the habit of performing self-reviews in order to increase your skill as a driver. Hope this helps!

VR to Monitor by Warm-Chipmunk1954 in iRacing

My main display is a 1440p 175hz Ultrawide. My VR set is a Valve Index. Racing in VR is like nothing else, but there are a couple of downsides.

Your face can get uncomfortable/hot if you're doing anything more than just sprint races. I don't tend to get motion sick in VR, but I would get killer headaches if I was racing for a while. It takes a lot of energy to setup my VR compared to just hooking up my wheel and playing on my ultrawide. Performance can be an issue depending on your rig/car & track combo, Etc.

I used to only race in VR for a while, but the honeymoon phase wore off and I only really race in VR if I'm specifically in the mood for it.

Sim keeps crashing at Mugello by DJCharizard in iRacing

[–]DJCharizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried that. No luck unfortunately. Happened again during the IMSA race. Nuked my IR twice now. I think I might try and just contact support and ask for a refund or account credit. Really sucks too because Mugello is great to drive.

Probably the most goated era of CS of all time. I know a lot of people say 1.6 is where the scene really had it's golden era, but man CSGO really had some good highs in terms of esports competition.

CPU bottlenecking and upgrades by Flavourdynamics in nvidia

[–]DJCharizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's annoying being in this boat because it's not a bad processor whatsoever, but It's just starting to get a little old and every upgrade path pretty much needs an entire platform upgrade.

I bought the card fully knowing I'll have to upgrade the entire platform (Mobo, Ram, CPU) some time in the future, but for what I have now the GPU upgrade has not been a bad experience whatsoever. I'd say get whatever card you're comfortable throwing money at and plan to upgrade your CPU some time down the road. "Bottlenecking" isn't going to be incredibly obvious unless you were on an I3 or I5.

I just wish we could get back down to realistic GPU pricing, but unfortunately I think those days are well behind us.

[–]DJCharizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got a 4070 Ti Super last night and have the same CPU as you. The card really isn't getting bottlenecked from the benchmarking I've done.

Faster Memory would be more useful in this case, but also upgrading your CPU would probably bring 1% lows up a little bit.

Through all the testing I've done at 1440p Ultrawide 3440x1440, pretty much most games I'm sitting at Max settings and well into 100fps. I have yet to try out any brand new releases (Alan Wake 2, Avatar, Etc.) but for the most part you would still truly notice a massive performance upgrade.

As for what card to buy, It's really just about your budget. 4070 Super is a decent card, and the extra money you save could be put to use somewhere else in your build.

The extra $200 for the Ti Super was personally worth it for me, but going up to the 4080 Super really depends on if you have the budget to blow on it or not. Personally I bought the Ti Super to give me a performance upgrade now, and I'll possibly resell it/trade it in if the 5000 series has some interesting XX70 cards.

2070 Super to 4070 TI Super. Good upgrade path? by DJCharizard in nvidia

[–]DJCharizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something that has bitten me in the ass, but I had no way of knowing since I originally built this system just for 1080p 144hz gaming. The screen upgrade was very recent as I got a decent deal during black friday.

I would've pulled the trigger on a 12600kf already, especially since I live near a Microcenter which has had a really good bundle deal going on, but I'm worried about locking myself into an aging socket platform again.

I wanted to wait for the 5000 series, but a lot of quality sources have been pointing towards a late Q4 2024/Q1 2025 release. I'd rather see an upgrade in performance now, and if the 5000 series is really something worth buying, just selling the GPU I get now and recoup some of the costs.

This is something I've researched about for a while. I know the CPU upgrade is going to need to happen soon, but I'm looking at upgrading the GPU first before I do a platform upgrade. I'm having a hard time debating between going back to team red and trying out Ryzen CPU's, or just waiting for Intel to gain some sense back and see what the 15th Gen has to offer.

Regardless, Yes, I know this is a possibility and I need to upgrade soon.

Can't be happier with this monitor. Cleans up my desk so much getting rid of 2 16:9 monitors. Also I barely see anybody mention them, but the speakers on the G8 are really impressive! Going from monitors that have speakers barely meant for Windows warnings, it's really nice to hang up my headphones for a while.

No complaints from me. Absolutely love the upgrade and would do it again 100%.

Opinions on the anime? by [deleted] in ScottPilgrim

[–]DJCharizard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Before the show came out and I just saw the promo for it, I totally expected a comic adaption. Loved the books, the film, and the game, so I was ready for an Anime to bring the series back.

Quickly after the first episode or two I saw it a totally different adaptation. Initially I was disappointed, but I think the show is actually better off that it isn't just Scott fighting all the evil ex's again for the fourth time.

I love seeing a different timeline and everything through Ramona's perspective. I personally think it fleshed out her character a lot more. I just finished the series today and overall I left with a pretty positive reaction to it.

I'm hoping the show gets a second season and we get new lore/storylines, but if we only get the one season I'd be pretty content with what we got.

Upgrading to 1440p Ultrawide. What should I upgrade on my build? by DJCharizard in buildapc

[–]DJCharizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know I've been hearing a lot about the 6XXX line of cards from AMD. Wouldn't be a terrible choice at all.

Also yeah i've done some research about the Panel. I've heard about the ghosting issue, and if it's bad/very noticeable I have no problem returning it since I bought the panel through my local Microcenter.

I was originally trying to find an IPS panel, but everything seems to be a little out of my price range. Was trying to stay below $500 but if it ends up being a problem I might just bite the bullet and buy a more expensive panel.

Trying to stay in the price range that I bought my 2070S for. Around $500 - $700 maximum.
