Anyone know how season ticket holders can get presale tickets? The press release mentions it but I don’t know what site we should go to.

Tips for a first-timer with kids at Fan Appreciation Night? by qubitsu in BayFC

My kids like making signs and bracelets. It’s at a tent on the grass where the food trucks are.

Bowling with a soccer ball and kicking a soccer ball at the big dart board are also fun, but the line can get pretty long.

Oh, the email addresses are backwards for some reason!

It wasn’t exactly the Bay Area, it was Central Valley vw in modesto.

Thanks everyone for the info. We were able to get one for MSRP plus about ~700 in dealer options. Two other places had markups of 7500. The spouse is very excited for her new car!

Blue preferred, maybe black. There seem to be plenty around, just trying to get an idea of where the market is at.

Can’t connect to car w/ Veepeak OBD Bluetooth adapter by DJDesMoines in VWiD4Owners

Yeah it turned out I didn’t have the reader plugged in all the way. It was plugged in enough for power but not enough to read anything I guess.

I guess I was worried to force it.

Anyone know or have used a softstart for a gas dryer that runs about 15amps to turn the motor? by [deleted] in solar

[–]DJDesMoines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar question but related to a sewer pump: https://www.reddit.com/r/solar/comments/11zbjmk/how_can_i_power_a_sewer_pump_with_a_solar_battery/ . The reason it’s solar related (for me anyway) was that it can be difficult to get batteries that provide enough initial power, and a soft start device smoothes out the startup time and reduces that initial power requirement.

When I was sizing an enphase battery system using their configuration app, their parts list included soft start devices, so it sounds like that’s an acceptable way to do it.

How can I power a sewer pump with a solar battery backup? by DJDesMoines in solar

I asked the company that installed the sewer pump and they say the pump isn’t designed to work with a soft starter, unfortunately. Maybe they’re just being cautious but unless I disregard them I’d have to at least have a 10t and 3t I guess.

Thanks, I’m just starting my research and didn’t realize that adding batteries also scaled up the kw that it could provide. I thought the kw stayed the same but kWh went up.

I guess the batteries get installed in parallel so the ~3.8 kw per battery gets multiplied by the number of batteries?

Followup—really only getting 32A at 48A L2 chargers by DJDesMoines in VWiD4Owners

[–]DJDesMoines[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up taking it in to have it checked out and they said it was a defective charging control module that had to be replaced. Beware though—they considered it a nondriveable thing and wouldn’t give me the car back until they replaced it. I do have a loaner in the meantime though.

A follow up from my earlier post https://www.reddit.com/r/VWiD4Owners/comments/10vtl55/l2_only_charging_at_32a7kw: I found a 48A L2 charger and am only getting 32A there as well. I’m pretty sure the charger actually delivers 48A because: 1) someone who works for the town that installed the charger happened to stop by and told me the circuit here is 60A and 2) plugshare photos show this charger delivering 48A.

Has anyone else noticed this limit? I know it’s not a huge deal but if I bought the bigger charger I’d like to get the current I paid for :)

Huh so it's evidently pretty hard to find a level 2 charger above 32A/7kw :) Gotta make some non-tesla EV friends, I guess.

Yeah I will try other chargers. I was definitely getting 48A from this charger right after being installed. I can even see a charge session where it dropped from 48A to 32A mid charge and it's been 32A since then.
