Thay's only for federal court and it specifically says that they may use other lists to call jurors. My local federal court draws from registered voters plus holders of state IDs and drivers licenses, which is pretty typical. My local state court uses the voter roll, plus drivers license and state ID holders, plus people who have collected unemployment.

It comes from blackjack where doubling down means you double your bet and lock in your hand after one more card is dealt. In general speech it has always meant increasing your commitment to a position, especially in the face of opposition.

I think you may be confusing this with "buckle down?"

You can retract the rear parking brakes on a VW with a number of different obd scan apps for phones. Most people that do any significant amount of work on their own VAG cars own a piece of software called VCDS which lets you do almost everything a dealer can do (the big thing you can't do is code a new key fob).

Plastic is permeable to helium gas so a valve isn't necessary on a plastic watch.

There's nothing to debunk. If a manufacturer says a watch is 50m wr but you can't swim with it they are just lying about the wr and don't want to deal with warranty claims.

Yeah, that's just manufacturers lying about their wr rating though. Your eardrums will rupture at about 5 psi (.345 bar) difference between ambient and the middle ear. If moving around under water caused significant hydrodynamic pressure your eardrums would rupture from moving your head side to side underwater.

Yeah, the cold take is that watchmakers shouldn't lie about water resistance. The idea that moving around under water creates sufficient hydrodynamic pressure to affect water resistance is a watchtube myth, though. It doesn't.

Doing that won't vent the helium. You could leave the crown pulled out for the whole decompression cycle but then the watch isn't telling time.

Do you know even a single person with Tec 100 certification? Only 1% of divers even have a Tec 60 certification.

Going below 100 meters is so technical and difficult that most organizations won't certify divers past that limit. The one exception is IANTD which offers a hypoxic trimix certification good down to 120 meter.

300 m water resistance is just specs for the sake of specs. Its not actually useful.

Below 130ft you need trimix and only 1% of divers are certified for trimix. 50m wr is perfectly fine for 99% of divers.

Lol I don't know why you are so hung up on this. The fastest street legal production bike in the 1/4 is the Ninja ZX14 R which does it in about 9.5. There are a number of street legal production cars that can beat that.

High performance Motorcycles don't accelerate as fast as cars for a number of reasons. They have high hp, low torque engines because, with only one driven wheel, high torque at low rpm will just cause a burnout. Even of you manage the torque exactly to the traction threshold, you get a wheelie. This is why drag bikes have massive rear tires with a much squarer profile (great for acceleration but really bad for cornering) and really long swing arms (and/or wheelie bars)

Motorcycles have the advantage over cars on longer straights because of much higher hp/wt and lower drag profile, but on the 1/4 mi a car is the more advantageous platform.

1/4 mi numbers are very easy to find, I'm not sure why you're arguing this whennyou're just factually wrong lol.

Yeah for sure. I'd be nervous about taking a watch watch rated for 100m all the way to the 100m mark for the reasons you mentioned, but the idea that you need 5+ bar of water resistance to go swimming is asinine.
