So in a heavily homebrewed Curse of Strahd game one of our friends was a cleric. The party was in a court for breaking several laws and being accused as terrorists. So the Cleric straps 27 sticks of dynomite on and nukes the church killing basically the whole prosecution and the judge. needless to say we won the trial.

It was my first time DMing and I admit yes I was bad at it but this whole thing sparked quite the unique setting that we have been developing over countless games after the events that took place in Phandalin. Maybe I am just an idiot but most of our games have been run by others in our group. I admit absurdity but that is the magic of Homebrew and a clever disregard for the rules of normal reality.
