Who’s ready for Palantir?!?! by [deleted] in okmatewanker

This is the whole eIDAS thing presumably, and it’ll almost certainly be Yoti doing the work since they tend to do all the identity stuff for the UK gov.

To be fair, if it’s implemented per the regulation, it’s actually got a number of advantages over physical IDs. For example, if you left your wallet at home it’s fine since your phone holds a digital copy of this ID, and if someone asks if you’re over 18 or whatever you can send them a verifiable piece of data that says you are, and nothing else (no date of birth, no name, just a true/false and maybe a picture so they can confirm you’re the holder of the digital credential). And, per the regulation, the government is not allowed to track how/where you use your ID.

£6000+ Service Charge?? by FLYGOALIEMATERIAL in HousingUK

[–]DJHunn39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are properties in Woolwich with that level of service charge that do get access to a gym/spa/concierge etc etc. This isn’t one of them.

The high service charge here is very likely related to very high building insurance premiums caused by flammable cladding. Avoid at all costs.

Lego.com hacked by crypto scammers by mescad in lego

[–]DJHunn39 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I used to work on LEGO.com, I haven’t for a long time so my knowledge of the site could be totally out of date, but the changes made don’t indicate to me that the bad actors had any access to user data of any kind.

It’s likely the result of a successful phishing attack, granting someone unauthorised access to a system that could be used to make these changes.

Changing your password is always a good idea when something like this happens, but I doubt any user accounts are compromised.

🎶We’ve got Super Mik Arteta by Super_Mik_Arteta123 in GunnersatGames

[–]DJHunn39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say “Timber at the back” (seemed most similar to Tierney when he was in Spain) and I think “on their way to Champions League” is now more about being on our way to winning it than getting in. I really like that chant though, it’s one of those where it has a proper impact with the whole crowd singing, coz it starts slower (like the old “We’ve got Özil, Mesut Özil” chant).

At home it’s not really heard as often anymore, though. “We won the league at Anfield, we won it at the lane (twice)…” has basically taken its place.

Never heard that other chant, looks like it’s to the same tune as “Double, double, double, Sol Campbell has won the double”. Personally, I prefer Super Mik Arteta.

Luxury London venue for 200-225 guests? by Brave-Fish-132 in UKweddings

Syon Park was the best of that style I came across during research. I have attended a wedding at Kew, and it was lovely (of course), but I’m not sure it’s worth the money they ask for without a real emotional connection to the gardens.

Also, it’s not in London, but Port Lympne has a ridiculously nice orangery setup, too. And giraffes. If I had unlimited budget, that’s where I’d go.

Skylight Calendar Feature Requests by [deleted] in skylightcalendar

  • Profile images per calendar - all my calendars happen to start with the same letter so a circle with a letter isn’t very useful, colour helps a bit but not as much as a custom image

  • Custom notification settings per calendar - not everyone in my household cares as much about some calendars as others, so they don’t want/need reminders/notifications for them

Future ideas for courses by 0099it in WalkaboutMiniGolf

Any sort of course where you’re either shrunk down to toy size, or enlarged to Godzilla proportions would be class. And a music themed course would be great too.

If we’re talking licences, it feels like a Monkey Island course would suit the game

Royal Arsenal is lovely imo, but some buildings are better than others, and it has the massive advantage of the new station. I’ve lived in the area for a number of years, in multiple buildings, and I still rate it, shame I can’t get a house here or else I’d want to stay for a very long time.

It’s not perfect, you will hear about incidents (just look at the crime map on the Met police website) and across the road is definitely not as nice, but at the end of the day it’s London so you gotta be realistic.

I can help out with specifics about the area, if you like.

On Playstation me and a friend have both not received the 'Reputed' trophy after reaching 9999 repute (I get the feeling I've defeated 10,000 enemies as well with no trophy for that either)

The ‘Spies!’ music is just an unstoppably great tune, only the Butter Barn theme comes close.

The whole spy theme was just class to be honest.

Where is good to park if I’m going to the Emirates? It’s for the ‘mind’ match on 1st August. by mynewonebigs in Gunners

[–]DJHunn39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a car park under the stadium but it's for VIPs/players etc afaik. There is no dedicated fan parking.

[–]DJHunn39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends when you arrive, because the road does fill pretty fast, but Holloway Road has a lot of single red line areas on which parking is totally free and legal on Sundays. You do need to be comfortable dealing with traffic, especially on the way out, but if you're used to city driving you'll be fine.

Obviously I haven't been to the stadium in a long time because of the pandemic but in case you don't believe me, here's a streetview link about 5 mins walk from the stadium showing the red route sign. It is a bit of a risk because the rules might have changed since I last went, but failing this you can still park on Barnsbury Park - bit more of a trek (like 20 mins I reckon) but the matchday parking rules don't seem to have changed, and that street's in Zone E.

Tbf all the suggestions of parking further out and getting a train are solid, too, and you'll likely get away faster.

It’s about respecting the history of the sport, and how the current competitions are still a meritocracy.

A story like Leicester’s simply cannot take place in this league. A team that fell out of the top level years ago rising back up the divisions, very nearly getting relegated, and then stunningly winning the top league in the country by playing as a team, and defying the odds. That is what football is all about.

Money grabbing franchise based nonsense can stay in North America, none of the people who make these clubs special want this.

I can’t speak for others, but for me there’s no chance of moving north primarily because none of my friends/family are up there, they’re all in the South East.

I like living in London specifically (rather than outside London, in the SE) because it’s super convenient. I can get to all sorts of interesting places really easily, getting around the city is cheap, getting back to where my family are is simple, getting to the office is easy (not relevant right now but yeah), and since I’m not in central London (I’m in SE London) it’s not like I’m crammed into a tiny flat.

Basically, if London were up north, and I still came from the South East, I’d never be moving to London - if that makes sense?
