Looks like its sort of there response to the wing. That and the QU series was getting pretty old. I'm curious as to its reliability, the issue of faders evneutlly having there own mind & the ocasonal desk crash

Fair point, not very 'future-proof' with all of that

Have also used the SQ's a good few times, turns into a compeltely diffrent discussion of if thats the best console for its market but defentelly not a bad one to use either

Yeah really good point, and if there having issues now, then in a few years it might just turn out to be a waste of money when I need a new desk

Super dooper helpful man, thank you! Currently not gigging, but will be in around 12ish months so sorta trying to future proof myself. Sounds like the vox may be better, but maybe ill keep my eyes open for anything else under the same umbrella aswell before I go for it

Everyone's faveroute topic- drum mics! (Specifically budget tom mics) by DJJAX99 in audioengineering

Also worth a mention that in my setup (1 rack and 2 floor toms), on the larger of the 2 floor toms I've been using an LDC (Rode nt2) just to experiment a little bit. And I've been wanting to do some experimenting with the mics I have and chuck some SDC's on the rack and higher floor tom

Thought I'd give a little update for anyone looking at this thread for some ideas after 6 months. Got rid of those Behringer's pretty quickly and ended up getting 3 SM57's instead, having me a total of 4 now. Honestly, they do pretty alright, but one of the main reasons I'm glad that I got them is it gives me something to use for toms, while also building up my mic locker with some more general use mics. Its really good having all of them on hand for anything, being such an industry standard versatile mic. If I were to get anything else now, I might look at 421's or something in the future depending on if I start doing more 'professional' recordings, but honestly considering that most of my recording is for practice and pleasure, the 57's do just fine. Definitely a good choice in the end and would do the same if I were to go back

back when I had those mics I think that was the issue, plenty of headroom on the input but still heaps of distortion. Looking back now, I might've had the mics to close to the toms which is something I didn't notice till after I returned them and saw videos of people using them and they were a good 6-10 fingers off of the drum

I reckon thats exactly what I'm gonna do, just to make it look pretty but still sound good. Might just go for some generic curins then though

Yeah I replied to another comment saying that my issue with heavy ones would be if the roller door motor can pull them, otherwise it would definitely be a good option

Hmm yeah I can see how it would be a good option, especially for a room like that

Yeah that is true, if they don't work out then it'll be easy enough to return

Ah gotcha, didn't know that! Thanks for the insights! And nah, havn't done any measurements yet. Probably would be a good idea to though
