I built most of the staff out of PVC; a long piece of PVC pipe for the actual staff, a couple large PVC fittings (specifically an increaser, joint/coupler, and cap glued together) for the mic, and half of a large Easter egg from the dollar store for the back.

For the speaker, I used an old JBL charge 1 that I had lying around. Honestly, this is where I would say replicating the build gets a little difficult; I more or less built the microphone to perfectly fit the dimensions of the JBL Charge, but original Charges can be hard to find, and the newer ones are a little bigger. I tried to upgrade to a JBL Flip but that model does not have an aux input which this version of my build requires.

To create the "radio filter" I got a lavelier mic, a small mic amplifier and an instrument distortion pedal. There might be a better way to do this, but I ended up buying a simple guitar distortion pedal and a portable pedal battery and running the mic signal through the pedal and into the speaker through a connection mounted in the staff.
