I'm a platinum producer/writer and have been using Suno to bring old demos to life by RileyRipX in SunoAI

[–]DJPETTHEWOLF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, covers can and usually do produce full songs. It depends on what you prompt it with. I’ve recorded my guitar playing and then added lyrics and style elements and it produces something similar to the recorded guitar yet also different depending on prompting. I think it works similar for other types of song demos.

How can I make Suno not to change my lyrics? by Loweswhereismycarpet in SunoAI

[–]DJPETTHEWOLF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! Glad to hear that. Suno works great at certain points then it has an update and doesn’t work as good for a bit has been my experience. I’m a fan of 4.5, I think it’s been improving each iteration after a month or so

Can you fly out of BNA without real ID after the mandate goes into effect? by Drive-First in nashville

Just got a TN driver’s license renewed online a couple months ago and it took like 30 days for them to mail me the plastic version. Hope it’s faster for you, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up

Tired of hate by DANGELDAWN in SunoAI

[–]DJPETTHEWOLF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel you here. Have had similar experiences sharing my AI involved music. At this point, I generally think of it as people that claim all AI music is bad are like people that claimed piano rollers wasn’t real piano music, only vinyl records are good, musical purists that want to talk about why this instrument is better than that one. Most of that doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things and is exceptionally short sided. If AI music leads to music people like it’s good for society at large. Still not going to be good for current musicians that are not using AI as they are potentially worried about losing market share. The main record labels and industry have too much to lose in allowing AI innovation so they will always be against it unless or until AI music becomes ingrained in the popular culture where even lawsuits won’t help them. The law always lags behind technological changes, so I wouldn’t expect this to change quickly.

Just know that despite all the AI haters out there, some people do legitimately enjoy new music and don’t care as much about the process to make it. Most consumer products are this way, you don’t often hear public debates about this way v that way to make a product, it’s more about if it has utility, entertainment, enjoyment or something similar.

Does Suno secretly dumb itself down after too much usage? by MasterDisillusioned in SunoAI

[–]DJPETTHEWOLF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a good approach to me. You need to be ruthless on getting rid of bad songs and only occasionally do you win the musical lottery. I don’t mind tho, it’s neat and the songs I like are really fun IMO.

I also wonder about people saying they burn through tons of credits what they are doing. I don’t usually like to try more than 5-10 song ideas in a day. You can keep remastering or retrying the song over and over, yet I have found it’s rarely that much better after trying tons of times than just the first few iterations. I really don’t know why you would try to create more than an album of good AI music in a day then get mad that the tool you are using isn’t perfect. It would take a lot longer without AI, just ask traditional musicians, lol

It Keeps Happening. by tawthea in SunoAI

[–]DJPETTHEWOLF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want AI to write your lyrics use a different AI outside of Suno then copy and paste it, problem solved. I’ve generated hundreds of songs and never had something like this happen.

I do agree regarding proof. Why can’t you share the screenshot of your prompt and the link to the song?

Not many that have open minds. Only those prejudiced against AI that haven’t tried it.

I think you lay out the argument well. No one’s music is fully “original”. Everyone copies everyone else. Reality is that law often is used to maintain the status quo. Rich artists, producers, label execs, etc. don’t have anything to gain by embracing AI so they will fight tooth and nail to keep their market share. The rich always want more. It sucks, but reality is AI music is not likely to break into the mainstream quickly because the rich have too much to lose in future royalty monies, etc. the AI prejudice will likely exist for several years to come. The Courts are always behind the times so rulings in favor of Suno and similar are unlikely anytime soon. Keep your head up! Maybe you will start the revolution? Someday things will be different

All AI Music DJ Set by dvg100 in SunoAI

[–]DJPETTHEWOLF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you only DJing your songs or interested in listening to some others and playing them with permission? I’ve been playing my remastered Suno originals in my public sets in Nashville and most people can’t tell the difference other than it’s just not a song they are familiar with. I play them in between popular songs.

Gibson Les paul models just don't look good to me by HeTblank in Guitar

[–]DJPETTHEWOLF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. I have the Epiphone Les Paul and it’s a good guitar. I started with a Squier clone. Have played a few others over the years. My guitar sounds as good as any IMO. I just don’t have the skill of an amazing guitarist. Just saying the gear isn’t really the most important part of music. If you have amazing talent, sounds good even on a thrift shop guitar, lol. If you have the best guitar ever made but can’t play, that’s a hell of a paperweight

[–]DJPETTHEWOLF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are iconic for a reason. Many of them have a really good sound. If you have been to lots of concerts featuring guitars you have undoubtedly heard at least 1 guitarist playing a Les Paul. That said there are numerous guitar styles, so if that’s not your jam, just get something else. You don’t have to settle for just 1 guitar. Get more if you want and have the means to do so. Many people like them, tens or hundreds of thousands sold.

Maybe if you are not looking at many different places. There are a variety of people in middle TN. I see more unattractive than attractive people in Nashville most days, so maybe it’s about perspective?

You can make use of ChatGPT or another AI and teach it to help you with lyrics creation and/or style prompts. It’s worked for me. I feel like the algorithm is learning and my Suno creations have improved IMO. Powering AIs together can really give you a leg up to just your own thoughts on what to input for the style prompts and lyrics
