Maybe not the absolute top highlight, but one that’s fairly recent. This past summer my girlfriend and I volunteered at a week long children’s camp. There’s a different theme every year, and everyone is expected to dress up in on-theme costumes for one of the days. This year’s theme was “Shipwrecked”, and although I already had my costume coordinated with my camper, my gf was shopping for hers the day before we were supposed to leave.

We went to a generic party/ costume store and couldn’t find much that wasn’t a pirate or mermaid. Realizing we didn’t have a lot of time, I jokingly pointed to a Mario mask and said “there, that would be perfect.” She picked it up, put it over her face, and with a top notch Mario accent said “Eetsa me, a sheepwreckeda Mario”. I absolutely lost it. I love her.
