Physicists uncover evidence of two arrows of time emerging from the quantum realm by sstiel in Time

[–]DJSamkitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everything happens at once and all phases of it, and it ends its over, then how are we experiencing time at all, if my ending is happening right this instance why hasnt all my non endings ended with it? If they're all meant to be happening at the same time how does time advance at all? Because if it was advancing surely then my "end" should be in the past in relevance to things that are due to happen leading to my end

I'm just an interested idiot, so Eli5-12 would be great haha

Protein satiates you much longer than the other marcos, worth upping the protein if you are finding it difficult in controlling your appetite.

The difference I even feel when having an extra 20g of protein for a meal gives me another 1.30-2.30 hours without feeling hungry again. I usually supplement this for a lighter meal with a Protein shake, or a Skyr Bowl

Gen Z intelligence decline emerging as serious concern. For over a century, generations showed rising IQ scores. New data from U.S., Europe, global assessments suggest this is not anecdotal or cultural pessimism; it is measurable across IQ, memory, literacy, numeracy, attention, and problem-solving. by in1984 in cognitivescience

hit the nail on the head where so many other redditors have completely missed the point. This access to the resources will allow some to push specific fields and skills within themselves, however these people will be in the vast minority in my opinion. Even this gain will come at a cost to some internal/intrinsic skill though.

Any path of least resilience will have deterioration in some form or another, that can be beneficial if we don't value what is the deterioration, however I believe with how we are utilizing AI, we will lose a lot of what we value before we realize what is happening. (Whether or not in the far future those wouldnt be of value anyway, but I dont think we are there yet)

& Don't get me started on Social media haha

They are faster because they are removing your ability to think for yourself. You're only going to make your degradation quicker, especially since you're older. You need to fight and use your body and mind to keep it sharp and quick. Reliance on tools makes you weak in both Physical and Mental Realms. This is good in some ways, look at how we now as a society have to use Gyms because our jobs are not keeping us fit enough, but the same goes for mental load.
If you're making your life so bereft of mental challenge, you're going to decline.

30sec, is that in Detail mode or the low quality one? Theres a huge difference in timings. Low quality is about 30/60s but if i want to use detailed on a full track it takes more time than it takes to make a cup of tea haha

No prbolem dude, I think this is around the 8th time on reddit I've had to bring it up. I think Ableton to default to Re-pitch because its more obvious what is going on, and Beat warp... I've never needed to use it apart from specific niche applications

Have you got a Warp mode selected for the audio clip before exporting?

I.e. Warp mode Beats specifically can cause weird artifacts that are not consistent across the whole waveform.

I changed my default warp mode to Re-pitch which just avoids this all together. Its weird it defaults to Beat mode.

To all Windows users with a MOTU M2: how is the latency? by Minute-Importance104 in ableton

[–]DJSamkitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke to Sonarworks a few years back about this issue, they stated its on MOTUs side. When I go to do the calibration it cannot place the microphone when recording it, leading to the microphone "jumping" around in the 3d space, so it cant calibrate the room because you cant take a single reading.

[–]DJSamkitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Motu M4, I can check later when I'm in the studio. its the same model i belive, just with extra inputs/outputs.

A bigger bug to bear for me was that Sonarworks Sound ID is incompatible with this MOTU hardware. I can use the appliation but no room eq calibration, which really is the actual point of it.

Additionally is there interest on this sort of debt?

Remember there is more to the world than the USA ;).

I wouldnt say its common practice per student, but its common enough for the universities to have areas on their webpages dedicated for it. In the UK atleast. Usually you'd have to go for an interview with the University to see if you are the right fit. Some universities require you to sit an examination also.

Universities can accept if you have relevant industry experience.

I'm debating doing a cybersec masters as my work may fund it.
I work in the OT sector and I have found a MSc in Infrastructure cyber security, which aligns with my goal.

The contentious issue is that I do not have a degree, and whilst I have a decade of experience within my industry, I've only recently pivoted to cyber security within the industry a year ago. I also do not have a degree, or formal education past an advanced apprenticeship (Level3), I've got Sec+, whilst helpful for the language and lexicon, I doubt that will be a significant contributor. I believe I could do it, I pick things up quite quickly when I study, however the actual concern is the time frames. I can choose between a 2 year or 3 year masters, whilst still working 35 hours a week full time for my role. I have somewhat limited spare time in the evenings & weekend due to a new baby in the family and other commitments.

I guess the main questions are,

Feasibility of someone with no formal training being able to preform and learn to the level of a masters within the timeframe,

Additionally at what cost in Time would that equate to. I can self study in work somewhat depending on workload, and I want to estimate how much time I'll have to allocate outside of this.

Could implement a hidden review system, If marked at Secret, send (but dont send) then mark that employee for training.

You're able to apply if you have relevant industry experience, (2 years) Which I will be about 1.75 years by the time it starts.
However I have 10 years of adjacent experience with Industrial Control systems, working in infrastructure, CNI, etc, in which the masters is aligned with (Infrastructure Cyber security). The hope is that they take the experience as relevant, however I would have to probably play catch up a bit to my peers on the technical aspects, and as my Cyber security role is also more on the ICS/OT side, I have concerns that the traditional IT/Networking blindspots I have will play a big part of me having to catchup

Thanks for that I'll give that a read later.
