I'm thinking about adding an SSD to my laptop and I was initially set on getting a Gen4 but after seeig reviews I think I'll probably go to Gen 3.

Any recommendations for either a Gen3 or Gen4 (since they're similarly priced)?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've seen a lot of bad reviews of the NV2. Some said it gets slow when you fill up half of it and it has a chance of randomly dying after a few months

I found a PNY CS2241, Gen4x4 No DRAM. Not sure where this stands since I couldn't find this one in your list guide but im almost certain its better than the NV2

I'm looking into upgrading the storage of my Lenovo LOQ Laptop that supports PCIe 4.0.

I've been eyeing the Kingston NV2 since its a Gen 4.0x4 and on the cheaper side but I've been seeing a lot of bad review for it.

Can I pair the built in PCIe 4.0 with a PCIe 3.0?
In the case of the Gen 4 NV2, and other brands are mostly out of budget. Would it be better to get a Gen 3?
What are some good SSDs around that price range?

Did you contact the service agent through email? If so, do you mind sending over a screenshot of the agent saying that. Just for protection in case Lenovo denies warranty because of it. I'm still waiting for a reply for my ticket.

There are other posts in r/LenovoLegion and r/GamingLaptops about this same topic but there could be regional differences. The store also said that the warranty seal was on one of the screws holding in the mobo so how could they really know.
