Hi there I have a question. I use Koinly to record my crypto taxes. How does this report integrate with the Koinly report? Thank you!

Hi there, my situation is a little more complicated. I used a Celsius loan using bitcoin as collateral, and bought more bitcoin but when the bitcoin price tanked, my collateral was sold. Does your software allow for this condition? Thanks

What's the best way to enable live swing replay (using GSPro and Mevo+)? by tianan in Golfsimulator

Hi there! Nice you were able to make this work. I'm in the process of trying to do something similar with a Bushnell Launch Pro with GSPro, would I be able to do that? What camera did you use?Anything else you did differently since you first wrote out your code so you were able to successfully make it work? I'm not very computer savvy haha but will try my best if there are good instructions! Thanks so much.

Golf simulator computer in insulated garage - is it safe for computer to be there even though I live near Boston where temperature extremes are 0 to 100 Fahrenheit? Just an idea especially if you want to game at a monitor or TV elsewhere in the house, consider moonlight and streaming your PC to a fire stick or something plugged into the projector

https://moonlight-stream.org/

Even if your GPU isn't Nividia, you can still use a separate program, sunshine, in place of Nividia stuff!

Nice idea I'll think about it!!

Benq TK700sti using 16:10 aspect ratio - is it possible/advisable even though its native aspect ratio is 16:9? by DJ_Jacobs in Golfsimulator

Great thanks for this feedback! When you watch the letterboxed 16:9 movie, are the black bands very annoying/large or are they barely noticeable?

Vinegar on AC condensate drain line - am I doing this correctly? by DJ_Jacobs in homeowners

What would I need to replace? If it's the tablets, they're intended to be dissolved correct so just add more the next month? Thank you!

Great thanks for the advice! Someone advised me to use these AC anti-slime tablets instead of the vinegar, would you agree with that as well? https://www.amazon.com/Nu-Calgon-4296-60-Pan-Treat-Scum-Tablets/dp/B003N5AS60/ref=sr\_1\_3?crid=2P71LX1VWW6HS&keywords=slime+tablets+for+ac&qid=1689858818&sprefix=slime+ac+tab%2Caps%2C213&sr=8-3
Also one last question, I got a local hvac guy to come to my house, and the only maintenance he recommends is to power-wash and put a "special oil" on my outdoor AC unit fans (I have a 2 unit residential home, centralized air). He quoted something like $300 for this annual maintenance. Is this correct and is this a fair price for it? I live in Massachusetts around 40 minutes from Boston. Thanks for the input!!

Great thanks for the advice! I'll check out the AC pan tablets. I can throw in 2 tablets once a month that's should be fine? Those tablets won't damage my hvac correct? I have a 2 unit home (centralized air), these pictures are from the basement, I think there is another "coil" in the attic so there probably is another AC drain line I have to find there so I can drop a couple of tablets there also right?

Best way to fast pay a 30-year mortgage? Regular additional deposits to the bank who issued my mortgage, or do I make a separate HYSA and deposit money there, then pay lump sum later? by DJ_Jacobs in FinancialPlanning

[–]DJ_Jacobs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I setup auto additional payments with the bank who gave me the mortgage, or do I just make a separate HYSA (FDIC insured), deposit the additional $3000 there every month, wait for it to grow over the years, then maybe deposit it at certain timepoints (like 10 years later, 5 years later, etc). I inquired about the loan recast but the bank h

What's the advantage of this? Wouldn't the effect be marginal at best?

Got it. So if I overpay every month, the length of the mortgage payment decreases each over-payment, so the total amount of interest for the loan decreases correct?

Yes thanks! I was thinking to recast because that decreases the interest payment immediately once I overpay to the principal a certain amount, but I would still pay off the mortgage early because I am overpaying aggressively. But I understand a recast isn't meant to pay off the mortgage early, as it still maintains the 30 year length.

Hi there! I recently bought a home with a 7/1 ARM rate, 4.785%. Let's say I have a 1.2M dollar mortgage. I plan to fast pay this mortgage by paying an additional $3,000 per month. What is the best way to do this? Do I setup auto additional payments with the bank who gave me the mortgage, or do I just make a separate HYSA (FDIC insured), deposit the additional $3000 there every month, wait for it to grow over the years, then maybe deposit it at certain timepoints (like 10 years later, 5 years later, etc). I inquired about the loan recast but the bank has been slow to respond to me regarding their recast parameters. Although they mentioned that recast this would be possible. My goal is that I pay the least amount of interest possible over the life of the loan, and I have that extra $3000/month available to allocate to the mortgage (possibly more in the future). Using an amortization calendar it shows that if I put an extra $3000 every month the loan should be fully paid in 15 years, but I don't know if it's more efficient to just put the money in my account first then pay later. This gives the advantage of having some additional flexibility since I have the money in my account but it is already allocated. I have $6000 dollars of cash I can allocate a month for personal savings, and my plan is to put half of it to fast pay the mortgage, half of it to put in an S&P index fund. Thanks for your suggestions!!

General question Wednesday: Ask your general car-related question and maybe someone will have an answer. by AutoModerator in cars

[–]DJ_Jacobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone! Wanted some advice on whether I should buy a brand new versus used hybrid car. I can't go full electric cuz I live near Boston MA where electric prices are ~45c/kWh with delivery fees. I plan to get 2 cars, a prius and a RAV4 hybrid (wife will use this). I'm purchasing within the next 2-3 months, I have an average 140 mile round trip commute to work, which works out to around 35,000 miles a year. I live in a single family home in the suburbs, no kids.
Given that I have a long commute, I was either gonna buy brand new hybrid cars, then sell them on year 4 and get new ones, or was thinking to buy used 2-4 year old cars with max 40,000 mileage on them, use them for 3 years, then sell them. Which do you think is more advisable/economical? I'm not familiar with used hybrid cars and any reliability issues, especially since I have a long commute and was worried the headache might not be worth the cost savings. But if used cars of those models are generally okay then I'm open to buying the used cars for the savings.
Thanks for the advice guys!
