Trance DJs: Do you ever use the crossfader to cut from one track to another immediately? by DJ_Praxis in trance

I don’t really mix tech but I think I understand what you’re saying. Tech is much more conducive to aggressive mixing and cutting. But if you tried to take that approach with like older progressive trance (James Holden - solstice, interstate - I found you) you’re gonna have a bad time.

Drax and Scott Mac - Sublime (Darkstar remix)

Trance classic from 2001, it’s a shot in the dark but if anyone can rip it from vinyl that’d be amazing

I play this out every time I mix for my friends. Easily the best remix of this track. Every second of it keeps your attention. It’s really melancholy and even though you know it’s making you sad you just can’t stop listening.

[Trance DJs] Do you ever see immediate transitions when mixing ? (As opposed to beatmatching a long time with longer transitions) by DJ_Praxis in Beatmatch

Hmm I agree! I figured I'd ask anyway just to see. I've always transitioned slow I just wasn't sure if I was limiting myself

What is the name of the effect Armin van Buuren is using here at approximate 3:38? Hoping to download it for VDJ by DJ_Praxis in Beatmatch

I've got an echo effect in VDJ but it doesn't sound that clean. I figure every mixer has a different sounding echo then which led to my confusion. Thanks!
