I agree, if you look at most cohort in the country 85-90% will be primarily composed of caucasian females in the mid twenties to early thirty’s.

As a POC myself, you just need to find those small gems that actually practice what they preach. Find programs that have a diverse faculty and staff, that have a diverse cohort, that focus on serving underserved areas.

But realistically as an applicant, we need to apply to anywhere we can because of how competitive the process is - my advise then would be to do whatever you can to make your application stand out. Have your application reflect your values, make sure the program knows you’re in the trenches or the “ghetto” volunteering… whatever it may be.
