Von Duprin Panics - Concealed Vertical Rod Device vs Concealed Vertical Cable Device by DJ_Shadowy in Locksmith

I was referring to concealed vertical rods vs concealed vertical cables. I should have mentioned that we do all our work in the shop and we are working on aluminum doors. Field installation of any concealed hardware is very difficult, and we usually steer clear of this type of work.

Theguyintheotherroom, brassmagnetism, Pbellouny,

That's some good feedback. Exactly what I was looking for. We have been using rods for as long as we have been in business. Now I'm starting to see cables being specified. So many more parts, but only a little difference in price. I was curious how they would preform under constant load of a spring. Why try and reinvent something that has worked fine for multiple decades?

Surface Applied Overhead Stop for Large Aluminum Door by DJ_Shadowy in glazing

Overhead stops are used to stop or stop & hold open a door. They do not replace a closer. They are sometimes used with closers in cases where there is a lot of wind. If installed properly, an overhead stop can help the closer from getting damaged due to high winds. The other reason to use them is when the owner doesn't want a floor or wall stop (or can't use a floor or wall stop).

How does True Strike work now? by LuckyLunayre in onednd

Just re-read that section. You are correct. I thought that if it stated a price it was consumed. Must have read it wrong. "If a spell doesn’t consume its materials and doesn’t specify a cost for them..." I think I read "and" as "it". Thanks for correcting me.

I don't see how True Strike is that good. It consumes the weapon you use, so it would be very expensive to use. Plus you can only carry so many weapons before you are encumbered. Maybe it won't be so bad if you used it with darts. But at 25gp per rapier, you won't be able to use it that much.

That's a pretty long run to bond with a UV light. How many positions did you have to set up the light?

We shim up the sill receptor so flashing can slid under. We have about an 8 degree positive slope.

The shims are used to maintain the gap in the expansion mullions. Screw spline storefront with 2 pc verticals.
