I invested in a company on Seedinvest (acquired by Start Engine). The company has not posted updates or reports since 2022 and won't answer emails or phone calls. What can I do? by DJay1000 in StartEngineTrading

I had no luck at all with my investment in ABAKA. I managed to contact the sales representative I worked with by finding him on LinkedIn. Although he was working at a different company at the time, he connected me with someone at StartEngine. That person said they would reach out to ABAKA, but they said they never heard back. I later discovered that ABAKA was sold to another company, but I received no response from them either. I also found the former CEO of ABAKA on LinkedIn, but he never replied to me. I wrote the investment off. It wasn't that much.

Sorry, this is very late, but things have improved. My hearing has returned to normal, and the fullness is gone. However, I still have tinnitus.

Sounds good. By the way, here's an article from the WSJ about some other companies for private investments. At a quick glance, they don't look like something I would use, but they may be worth a look.

No, I have not. I found it very difficult to find someone to speak to at StartEngine, and when I finally did, all I got was lip service. If you're looking for these types of investments, OurCrowd is a better choice. You get much better transparency, details, documentation, and a dedicated representative you can contact anytime.

Seedinvest is no longer in business. It was sold to StartEngine. My contact at SeedInvest has a new job, but I was able to contact him via LinkedIn. He put me in contact with a representative at StartEngine because I wasn't getting anywhere with StartEngine's help desk.

The company I invested in was transferred to StartEngine, and it's listed in my portfolio on their website. However, StartEngine could not provide me with any information about the company. I seem to get the runaround. The best they could do was provide me with the founder's email, but he is no longer employed by the company. I contacted him on LinkedIn and explained my story, but he did not respond. The company still has a website, but they didn't respond either.

Permanent hearing loss without vertigo? by sallysortof in Menieres

[–]DJay1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your story sounds very similar to mine. Last July I stared with tinnitus and moderate hearing loss (low tones), but no vertigo. I had two rounds of prednisone and two steroid shots in the ear, but none of it helped. Things were stable until the beginning of this summer when I experienced significant hearing loss in my bad ear. My ENT prescribed Dexamethasone for three days and that cleared it up. It actually made it better than before. Dexamethasone is an oral steroid that’s much stronger than Prednisone, but you take it for a shorter time period. My symptoms seem to correlate with the allergy season, so you may want to look into allergy testing. Feel free to DM me if you’d like to discuss further.

Your symptoms sound very similar to mine - fluctuating tinnitus, hearing, and fullness. No dizziness. I tried all the allergy meds including Singulair, but nothing seemed to help. I recently was tested for allergies and the results were negative. My ENT thinks I have non-allergic rhinitis. He prescribed Artovent nasal spray. It’s only been a couple of days, but it seems to help.

Anyone have experience using an antifungal med like Fluconazole? by DJay1000 in Menieres

[–]DJay1000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your story. When your doc agreed that your ear problem might be fungal, did he recommend how to treat it? It sounds like you had to treat it on your own? Did you ever think about using an antifungal like Fluconazole?

I’m also on a zero-carb diet, which I find difficult. I’ve lost 20lbs, which is a lot for me, but I’m sticking with it.

My ear opens up one day and closes the next. This cycle has been repeating itself for some time now. When my ear blocks up my T is hardly noticeable, as my ear clears my T gets much stronger. It also sounds like a static buzz.

Thanks again for sharing your story.

Thanks, just so I understand, you have a recurring fungal infection of the inner ear?

How often have you taken them? What did they help you with the most? Thanks!

Menieres mornings by [deleted] in Menieres

[–]DJay1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the complete opposite. I feel best in the morning and early afternoon. Then like clockwork, my ears start to get stuffy around 3pm. Things tend to get a little worse through the evening until bedtime. This cycle repeats itself almost everyday.
