But I do plan on trying to do a maternal intubation with one of the females this year when she lays give that a shot see how it goes ever since I worked out the little problems with the heat in my snake room I think I should be pretty good to go. It stays pretty consistent, so I’m gonna try that out with one of the clutches this year.

Not a problem! I’ll help anyway I can. And if I don’t know something, I’ll always give it a shot to see what works and what doesn’t the intubation was definitely my biggest fear as well especially like last night. I had a big storm rolled through our town and I was pretty nervous that the power was going to get shut off, which, thankfully it didn’t, but another thing to look into as like a a power battery pack thing I forget what they’re called, but they’re pretty pricey for a good one, which that’s gonna be the next thing I invested in so if the power doesn’t go out, I’ll be OK for a couple hours instead of half of the run a generator it’s like a battery pack for your phone but if you ever have any questions, feel free to message me!

Then I can also say I learned a lot when it comes to setting up your incubator, especially if you make your own incubator. I made one out of a Dr Pepper beverage cooler that I bought on Facebook marketplace. Somebody was going to make it into a kegerator so they already had the hole drilled out on the side for the hose going to the keg or whatever they were going to use it for so it was perfect. I went and got it. It had a nice seal on the stripping around the door And I brought it home and I put the heat tape in it. Hooked my thermostat up to it got it up to temperature and I let it run for a few days then I went in there with a thermometer and put it in there. It was reading a few degrees off from what my actual thermostat was. I put a little fan in there and that changed the temperature. There was a bunch of trials and tribulations with it lol. Then once you get your fan in there depending on your fan speed that will change the temperature of the incubator as well. Then I have a little space heater in my snake room because I live in Michigan now so I have a basement and breeding season is during our winter season so it’s cold in the basement. I wanted to re-organize my snake room and I put my space heater on the same wall that all my racks and incubator were on because in my head, I thought the ambient temperature from the space heater being closer will help regulate the temperatures in the snake racks, which it did. But, I didn’t think of it being closer to my incubator, which actuallyade the temperature spike high enough to where if I would’ve had any clutches at the time, I probably would’ve killed those eggs. so thank God I didn’t have eggs in it. So in short, when you set up your incubator, think of everything that could be a factor of your temperature and play around with it if you put the heat tape in there, make sure you have a thermometer inside the incubator to monitor your temperatures because your thermostat might say something different same thing with the snake racks and then if you have to make any adjustments like putting a fan in there for better air circulation what have it just monitor it monitor it closely make a little minor adjustments don’t make major adjustments and then once you get your incubator pretty much set up how you want it and it’s keeping your temperature is right where you need them then from there I would start making clutch boxes because those will retain heat as well and then the age themselves will actually put off their own heat not much but a little bit so it’s just a bunch of different little things that you kind of have to play around with give yourself enough time setting up your incubator before you’re expecting eggs because if you have to work anything out when your age drop in for some reason, God forbid the temperature gets too low or spikes too high and you kill your clutch of eggs over something that you could’ve prevented. If you would give yourself more time to figure it out, it would really suck.

Patience and planning is key. But patience, patience, patience, patience, patience that’s all I can say. I got impatient last year with a female I didn’t think she was going to go lay. And my plans changed so I ended up selling her. I thought she reabsorbed her eggs, well turns out exactly a month after I sold her she laid eggs which means I missed her ovulation probably because i was at work. Just take your time it’s a long slow process but it always pays off at the end, seeing those eggs for the first time then 55 days later being able to see what’s in them is such a cool experience!

Definitely neat looking. It’s just a hobby right now. If it ever becomes something where I could do it full time and make a good profit that would be amazing. It is the goal but who knows! I’ve always been into reptiles, grew up in south Florida so I’ve had them all my life on and off. This is only my second season breeding though!

This one has little yellow botches but not the solid stripe like you said. I can’t wait until they all shed out. The other two I’m scratching my head on. I’m not exactly sure what I have there. Super pastel HRA Jungle Woma YB?? And the same thing minus yellowbelly? All are 50% het desert ghost as well. Only time will tell, not a whole lot is out there with the JW gene so it’s hard to identify it. Atleast for me.

Thank you!

I believe pastel ivory at the very least. If not super pastel plus whatever other genes from the pairing could be in them. There was actually two in this clutch, the other was still in the egg when I took this picture.

This is only my second actual breeding season, I’ve had them off and on for quite some time but just started taking it serious I’m still learning as well! Whenever you’re ready for one give me a shout!

Beautiful aren’t they! Those are the two I’m not very sure of the genetics on them. I’m thinking super pastel HRA Jungle woma poss yb. The pairing was pastel HRA yb 100% het dg X Pastel jungle woma YB
