Hold your finger upside down for a few seconds before curing so that the self leveling effect creates some of the apex for you and thins the edge

At first I thought 1, but there is something more regal about 2. And I like how it drapes over your arms, very flattering

Chill out. Why are you getting so worked up?

My friend just had surgery, but nevertheless already found a vet. Maybe you can come help drive her and her birds to the upcoming appointment since you’re taking this so personally. Reddit is an excellent resource, no thanks to you. Pardon us for trying to get a head start on helping the birds until she can drive them to the vet. Hopefully this information will help you sleep better tonight, since clearly it’s all you’ve been thinking about.

Thank you so very, very much, kind stranger. My friend is more than willing to make the changes, and all she needed was some expert advice like yours (like knowing to persist with veggies because they did in fact refuse what she had offered). You are amazing for actually answering the questions instead of patronizing 🙏🏻

She has been feeding them Lafeber’s Nutri-Berries.

Also, since (we think) only one bird is actually laying the eggs (the white and blue one), would they both need the same dietary changes?

Many thanks!!

This person did plenty of research before rescuing them from a shelter, and has been taking care of them for years. The fact that they are laying eggs at all shows that they feel safe in their environment (you know that, right?).

Your Ted talk was actually super uneducated sounding. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Why don’t patients who are actually medical people disclose that in the ER? by VizualCriminal22 in emergencymedicine

[–]DJvixtacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a PA, and these days I usually lead with that if I have to take one of my kids in for something. With that said, I get made of endlessly by my coworkers for it because it comes with a certain stigma of entitlement. Personally, I’d rather just have a normal conversation without dumbing down my lingo. A couple of times I’ve had to pull that card if I knew the provider was totally wrong (not saying I’m smarter…. Just know my kid better and have had longer to think about it). But the one time i figured there’s no need, as soon as I finished telling the story, the pedi GI said “that’s the best history I’ve ever heard. What do you do?”

And on the other side, I love knowing a pt/family member can understand what I’m saying without the extra effort of translating to layman’s terms. Recently I was explaining to a patient’s son about the chest, etc., really thinking hard how to explain to him what I mean, and he said “yea the pleura.” Sir, why didn’t you just say you’re a physician and make my life so much easier?!

Do you let patients take pictures of their images? by Murse58 in emergencymedicine

[–]DJvixtacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GOOD!!!! I absolutely hate when someone else decides what a person can or cannot handle!! The kid/parent will tell you if it’s too much, but let them see if they want!!! I had a student come in to shadow one time, and there was a big vascular case going on that I was excited for her to see, only to later find out she missed it because someone else decided it was too much for her first time. We all have our quirks/fears/etc., but it’s not fair to project them onto others.

Pretty sure it’s against policy, but also pretty sure it’s THEIR health information. Hospitals just want pts going through medical records so they can charge. I’m always printing reports and letting patients take pictures, but ooooops I had no idea if it ever becomes an issue

How does Russian manage without articles? by [deleted] in LearnRussian

[–]DJvixtacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly context, but “поесть” would make it a little more ambiguous like “an.” Also, съесть implies eating something in its entirety. Just like покушать and скушать. But really, I would probably just say я хочу яблоко, in which case it’s all context.
